I'm really thinking of going for one of these within the next week. I just want to know (if it's known yet) how bright the screens are. I'm probably going for the matte screen, because although I was really aching for a glossy one, I've come to realize the LCDs in my house (my computer's monitor, my tv) all have matte screens, so I'll just go for that. But yea, I want it to be bright.

Also, how good are the warranties handled on them? I know they're from different resellers, so could anyone (preferably someone not affiliated with said resellers) give their experiences?

Edit: Also, if I ordered one within the next week, when would it probably be shipped?

just call up the vendor that you want to purchase from, they should easily answer your questions... even if its technical... like LCD contrast ratio's and such. :)

I called a day or so ago to ask. I was told it would probably ship around the second week of July. But it really hard to say until it is ordered.

Well, I'm settled. I am going to be buying a 2090. I just need to find a good, reliable reseller to buy it from.

Actually, upon hearing that the 8600M GT with 512MB of DDR2 ram clocked at only 800MHz (400 actual), I'm probably not going for the 2090. That's almost half the bandwidth of the 256MB DDR3 models, which will KILL performance.

The only way I'll be buying this laptop now is if I'm told the DDR2 version is clocked at the same frequency as the DDR3.

I just now bought one from XoticPC. XoticPC and PowerNotebooks both have excellent reps around the forum from what I have seen and read myself.

Good choice. Just ordered mine day before yesterday from Xoticpc. Seems to be you cant go wrong with either Xoticpc or Powernotebooks. Being able to talk to reps like this makes for amazing customer service and I wish the larger companies would catch on.
