So i have had my Sager 2090 for about 3 months now and i love it. I have a question to other owners out there concerning the powerbrick. I was wondering how hot your power brick gets. If i am gaming or doing anything that is fairly demanding on the laptop for an hour or so my powerbrick gets very hot; and by very hot i mean its almost too hot to pick up. I would imagine that its not meant to be like this. Has anyone else experienced anything like this or should i contact powernotebooks.com?

    Thanks

Your power brick should not get too hot for you to comfortably pick up. My 220Watt D901C power adapter is a monster, and while it does get hot, I can still pick it up by hand even after prolonged use!

Stupid question but something I noticed with mine when I was home for a week or so. Mine doesn't really get hot when I leave it on my desk but when I was home it sitting on the carpet on the floor and it did get a lot hotter. I was thinking after reading this maybe it is in a location where it doesn't get good air flow around it allowing it dissipate the heat properly. Just a thought.

Yeah the carpet doesn't necesarily take the heat away as it will absorb and possibly add to the heat build, and essentially send it back to the power supply.

If you want a cheap piece of advice from a Chef (me), sitting it on a marble chopping board or small slab (available fo rthe same price or cheaper than a notebok cooler), sitting your adapter on that as it will draw the heat away; that is what i use for pulled sugar that sits at 160 celsius; it will work well, even an idea for the notebook itself (forget the portability of the marble slab though, lol!) - just an idea.
