I did some testing on my sager 2090.
Specs:
Intel core 2 duo t7500 2.2Ghz
2 gig rm
8600gt gddr2
I only got a score of under 1500. Is this normal? I saw others getting about 3000 in 3dmark with the 8600gt. I am using the 163.44 drivers from laptopvideo2go. Also my video card is running at about 60-65 degrees. Is that too high?

Optimize your system, the 8600m GT should post around 3000. The temps are fine.
-
make sure to:
- plugged into AC
- Powermizer set to Max Performance
- disable useless resource hogs (System Restore, Indexing Service) -
How do i set promermizer to max performance? Also its plugged into AC and i did some tweaks like disable system restore and some other tweaks.
-
Powermizer is usually in the Display Properties (Nvidia Control Panel)
-
where to go to disable useless resource hogs Indexing Service?
-
go to My Computer, right-click C:\ and select properties.
you should be able to UNCHECK the Indexing Service on the bottom. (do it for all file and subfolders.. ignore all files in use)
or... go to RUN, type: SERVICES.MSC
and disable the Indexing Service there. -
Thanks now im getting about 3000 in 3dmark.

hey I have a question. I tried to change powermizer settings but I don't see it under Display. I searched the help file in the Nvidia control panel and it says that it is in the Mobile category, but I don't have a Mobile category! This apparently is because I have Windows Vista. So where is this powermizer thing for Vista and how do I change it?
-
I do not think that Vista has Powermizer available... especially if you are using tweaked drivers.
-
look for modded drivers with powermizer enabled, some drivers won't use powermizer at all. I am on 163.15 for XP 32bit which keeps my GPU running from 168/100 (when no 3d is needed) to the 400/475 when gaming, with an intermediate step...no sure when.
This are not best performing drivers but they work OK.
Good luck
