I was just wondering how many Sager owners have installed 32bit Vista over the preinstalled 64bit.

I'm not a owner of the laptop but I think 32-bit Vista has more compability for older applications however, 64-bit might be better for the future. It depends what your needs are and if you use old applications. Many websites list 64-bit compatible application, you can google them ....

Kinda strange for me, mine came with 32bit ultimate and the disc only says 32 bit when I put it into the drive. I've asked Justin@Xotic about it but haven't been able to get real answers, just things along the lines of "if you ordered 32 bit you get 32 bit" but it says on my order's list that it's 64 bit. I would like to use 64 bit so that I could get 4 gb of ram in there, ordered the single 2gb ram in it just for that reason. Seems I won't be able to do it anymore though.

I am using 64 bit Vista on my 2090. So far I have been able to get all of my applications working and have had no issues using any of my external hardware, so I look like I will be sticking with it.

I went back to XP Pro, actually. @_@. I'll move up to Vista 64 when the time is right to do so.

^ Look on Microsoft's website. You might be able to dl 64 bit for free. I ran into a page where you enter your cdkey and it'll let you dl 64-bit.

64 here. I haven't had any problems with any programs or any games so far. I like the fact that it's a bit safer than 32.

64 bit here also. The only issue I've had with 64 is that I can't run Ad-Aware software and my bio finger thingy is consuming a ton of my ram (not sure if it's 64 bit related yet). Besides that, I've had no issues with it. In fact, I wish more people would run 64 bit so that software/hardware manufactures would develop more programs at that target market.

64-bit will be the OS going forward. All the CPUs are now 64-bit... it's about time that 64-bit OS became mainstream. Microsoft stated that 64 will be the only OS maintained at some point in the future.

last week i was looking through ms's website and ran across a faq that clearly said if you had a 32 bit version of an OS and you want to get the 64 bit version of the same OS you have to buy it again. I don't have the link but i am sure that is what it said.

Ordered my IFL-2090 as the PowerPro 10:15, not the one from Sager. Got it with 64-bit Vista-Biz. Thought it (vista) seemed pretty decent, but ran into some quirky video-driver issues when playing games like FEAR (yeah, I used the laptopvideo2go site for newer ones). Added a second 2GB stick of RAM, for 4GB total, and Vista started seeming noticeably snappier (I run a lot of real memory-pig software, like Oracle, LotusNotes, etc), but still kept running into stupid little Vista-isms that were annoying.

In the end, I just couldn't stick with it, because the company I work for uses a CheckPoint firewall, and there's no 64-bit client available. So, I wiped the disk and put XP-Pro (32 bit). Finding all the drivers and whatnot was a little tedious -- Compal doesn't make it easy or obvious imho, but once it was all up and going, it's been great. (And the computer is way more stable).

hahahahaha *vista* .... riiiiiiite nope I ordered XP Prof in mine, but if i were to order vista; big IF, it would be a 32 bit vista... 64 bit means even less stuff will work with the already limited products supported in vista.
