Can anyone get me a screenshot from a Sager 2090 showing the desktop at 1680x1050 res and then another at 1280x800 res so I can compare the two?

I'm not sure anybody has a 1600x1050 res screen yet, or else there would be some sort of thread about it.

The 1680x1050 screen Sager's haven't shipped yet. Check back a little over a week from now and you might be able to find someone who has one.

There is a screenshot of the 1280x800 in flippoets thread on his Sager. Nothing yet on the 1680x1050, maybe see if anyones posted a screen shot of their Asus G1S or another 15.4 at that resolution.

Well, I don't have a Sager NP2090, but I can give you some comparison screenshots from my desktop at 1680x1050 and 1280x800:

Unless you want some actual photographs of the laptop running at that res - in which case I can't help ya.

Edit: Although actually... if you wanted to see how the different resolutions look on the laptop itself, some quick photo editing gives this:

thats exactly what I was looking for. Seems like 1680x1050 isnt as small as it seemed.

Thanks Joga! I hadn't realized the 1680x1050's on the Sagers weren't shipped yet, but those screenshots are fine. The 1680 one really doesn't look as small as I had expected.

Seijun, if you want to see one in person, you can just go to a CompUSA Bestbuy ETC, and look for any laptop with a 15.4" screen that does 1680x1050. I was able to find some, I'm sure you could too.

Vista really needs to start using Dynamic Resolution. Look at how much screen real estate you're losing by dropping to 1280x800.

Hold out for the glossy WSXGA screens; they should be at XoticPC by late next week, perhaps early in the week after that.
