    What is better for cod 4? and gears of war?? Any answer would be highly appreciated. I own both and they seem to be both the same which is annoying because my desktop cant even run gears of war and im afraid it will be the same on this laptop.

    It's the graphics card, the 8600 is severely crippled by the 128-bit memory bus, so high resolutions aren't too friendly to the card.

    What resolution are you playing COD4 at?

    In the US you have a 30 day return policy, no questions asked. Don`t you have that in your country? if not, you should now that the 8600M GT is not that bad actually, it can put quite a performance with some OCing...

    According to MegaBud (a forum user here), you are protected by Canadian law so you can return anything or something along those lines. You should PM him to see what he means by that as I'm not Canadian so I don't know that stuff.

    I have a Sager 2090 and it runs COD4 nearly flawlessly. Don't give up on it yet. Try upgrading your graphics drivers and running other tweaks like the multi-core one on the forums.

    these are my cod 4 settings
    1280 x 800
    2x aa
    modeling detail normal (in cod 4 normal = high)
    all special effects = off
    textures = high
    fps in game with no action = 30 - 55
    with same settings desktop does the same but a bit better.
    ```
    my desktop got destroyed by gears of war so i wont even bother installing that on my laptop. Im really depressed i feel really stuipd for buying this laptop because its just not doing what i hoped it would with the specs on paper.
    So i just want to return it and maybe get another laptop and spend a bit more i guess.
    So can i return this ? i got the laptop yesterday from sager's website and i live in Canada.
    Or you guy can convince me this was a good and help me make games run better by alot compared to desktop.
    the reason your desktop did not handle Gears of War is because of the CPU... no doubt.
    Gears of War is using the Unreal Engine 3 that is very CPU intensive and is fully optimized for multi-cores.
    The P4 2.8 is worse than any current dual core... even the low end ones.
    As for the site that I gave you,
    Look for the Compal IFL-90 (which is what the Sager 2090 is) on the Canadian sites that I gave you, they are very reputable and have competitive pricing.
    you mean return a Sager??
    you can return a Sager within 30-days for a full refund... they have a full satisfaction guarantee.
    So if you are unhappy with it for any reason, you can return or replace the unit.
    If your primary goal is to game, then you're better off getting a desktop, unless you need to have a portable computer.
    For a 15.4", the NP2090 is a very powerful gaming laptop, there are no 15.4" laptops with a 256-bit graphics card, which means you have to go to 17" notebooks for actual gaming power in a portable package.
