I'm running Vista 64bit, just as it came out of the box. But these buttons don't do anything. They don't light up when pressed (as seen in some pictures) and don't give any sort of response.

Has anyone else had this problem?

U have to install the drivers on the driver disk that came with the laptop. Not all drivers are preinstalled.

Alright, I figured as much. But it's not clear which drivers I'm supposed to use for it. There are no clearly marked drivers on the disk for those buttons.

The driver disc is kind of confusing. Any step by step guide to installing drivers for the two buttons? I feel like a noob.

No idea...damn. Someone must have figured this out...at least I'm not the only one with the problem, though.

The driver that allows the use of those buttons is called Sidewalker, available in the Vista x64 folders.

However, if you're like me, you'll get the error that this such driver cannot be installed on the 2090...

The USB power only works when your laptop is turned off. It gives power to things that are plugged into the left side of the laptop. For Example, if I want to charge my ipod through my 2090 while it is off, I can do so because the USBs on the left side of the 2090 can be turned on via the button.

Sidewalker, eh? I'll give it a shot...

    EDIT:

"You cannot install this version into your system".

Huh...that's weird, that they would give us drivers that don't work with our model -_-

    SECOND EDIT:

Ok, even weirder. I restarted my computer and now the smart charging button works....cool!

How did you find out it worked, what OS are you on?
Did you use it with the laptop powered off?
    Lots of questions...

I'm on vista 64-bit. Just how it came when I ordered it.

I used the USB power button when it's off, it worked. I had just never tried that before.

But with the smart charging button, it didn't work. Then, I'm not sure what exactly happened. All I know for sure is that I attempted to install the Sidewalker drivers, but it said that I couldn't install them on this system. I also did some stuff with the Smart Charger battery program (which might have had something to do with it). I restarted a little while later, and then the smart charging button worked.

Yeah, I haven't had any big problems with it. Some incompatibilities, but for the most part things that I've tried work fine.
