    Hi folks, :)

Thought might be interesting if Sager NP2092 (Compal JFL92) owners would share their Temperature Readings ...

    HDD (320G Fujitsu) Idle: 43C/109F
    HDD Using Transcoder: 44C/110F

GPU (NVIDIA 8600M GT) Idle: 77C/171F
    GPU Using Transcoder: 70C/161F

    CPU (T9300): 52C/126F
    CPU During Transcoder: 62C

    Core #1 (T9300) Idle: 49C/120F
    Core #2 During Transcoder: 59C

    Core #2 (T9300) Idle: 48C/119F
    Core #2 During Transcoder: 57C

What I found interesting was that my NVIDIA 8600M GT GPU temperature fell when the CPU kicked in and started processing the video.

Q1: Is a temperature of 77C/171F "Normal" for the Idle GPU Temp?

    Thanks,
    G! :)

to your question, no 77C is not normal for Idle temp.

I guess the fans were blowing harder when you had it under load, and that's what cooled down the GPU?

    Hi folks,

@ Nirvana - so what is the Normal Temp for GPU at normal ... laptop is on and I am not even touching it ... just have the A/C Charger plugged in.

@ trwrt - you are right, now I tried it again ... and the Fan did kick up.

Q1: Does 2092 fan suck air into the laptop and exhaust out from the rear .. right!?!?

    G!

    Q1 answer is yes.

What are you using to measure your GPU temp?

Those temps seem ok as long as the GPU temp does not exceed 90C degrees during heavy use (gaming).

Covered it in NBR Cooling Central. :)

    Hi folks,

@ Paladin, Thanks for your reply. May be I get me a fan forcing air into top left chamber under 2092 ... may be that will cool down my GPU. Also, I am using "Everest Free Edition 2.20" for reading GPU Temps. Use Everest Ultimate 4.50 Trial Ver for reading CPU, since the Trial ver does not have GPU readings ... it says trial. I will install and try "Riva Tuner" in few minutes see if I get different readings.

@ Gophn, I have read and printed out your "NBR Cooling Central" guide. Excellent source THANKS! But as "Brendon" mentioned in his post can someone add what is a "Normal" reading for these NVIDIA 8600GT GPU in 2092 ... and not the Danger Zone.

BTW, I have started an Excel Spreadsheet and I am logging my Temps as I start my laptop ... and at different hours and under different Applications runs.

FYI, my GPU is running HOT when my laptop is in Idle mode. 78C/173F ... I don't think this is good. I plan to call Sager and see what is up!!!  May be I am the lucky winner and got myself a problem 2092.

Q1: If I want to share this data with you folks ... how do you post an Excel spreadsheet to a post?

    Thanks,
    G! :)
