While I watch media on my laptop, while reading ahead (skipping to the middle of the video etc) the video will black screen and freeze, meanwhile I can use other applications, just the media player (I usually use windows media player) stops responding temporarily. I have the latest graphics drivers from laptop2video.

    Specs:
    2.5 ghz santa rosa
    8600m gt
    320 gb 5400 rpm hdd
    4 gb ram
Vista home premium 64 bit edition

What quality video are you watching when this happens? Is it only high def or in smaller videos, too?

Hm. Perhaps try rolling back ForceWare drivers to the latest supported by compal/sager?

You're not in Power Saver mode are you?

Which codecs are you using? You could give K-Lite a try, and then use Windows Media Player Classic?

K-Lite is a codec (pack) that will supply you with most of what you need for video and audio listening. Windows Media Player Classic is a bonus player, which in my opinion beats Windows Media Player hands down.

    Here, get the full version.

So klite will be an add-on for Windows media player? Cause i would prefer to continue using it.
