    Hello,

was looking at 2096 pictures and have a question ..

Q: Is the Hinge different than the one used on 2092 model? If so, it seems the lid will not close flush!?!?

Also, I noticed that there is no Firewire on Sager NP2096 ... where 2092 used to have one.

Q: How important is to have a Firewire connection?

Also noticed that you lose 1 USB, now only 3, but you gain an HDMI!

    G! :)

Eh I dont think firewire is all that important. You can buy a USB adapter if all else fails. The only two things that make me hesitate on this laptop is the GDDR rather than GDDR3 card and the poor placement of the USB ports.

    Donald,
Is the Power Pro on your site the GDDR3?
And has the unit started shipping?

Yeah, but I read somewhere that they're going to release a GDDR3 version.... That's why I asked.

Well, ordinarily I would ask which PowerPro...but at this moment I don't have to because all that you see up there now are GDDR2.

However you may well see within about a week the launch of new 15.4" and 17" PowerPro models that have the 9600M GT w/512MB GDDR3 :)

Pre-order within about a week, could be sooner, then shipping in early August.

Just remember though (we have been down this road before), sometimes it is better to wait for a week or two to get what you want (don't forget you will be using it for the next few years) even if it means sacrificing some inconvenience by not having it exactly when you would want it.

The inconvenience of those couple of weeks is soon forgotten once you get what you really wanted.

But I kinda need the system before August 4th. My brother is leaving from US n flying to India ( where I stay ). How do you rate the probability of that happening?

I am not familiar with these power pro models at all. Are they as reliable as the Sager units? These are the same as the Force models?

Ooh, will these be compals or will they be something else, like an ASUS.

Yes, they are identical laptops with different names. Compals are excellent machines.

Sadly, the probability is too low to consider.

Please wait for the launch. I cannot really disclose anything more than I have at this time.

I'll definently wait, the main reason i wasn't sure what to buy was the lack of gddr3

What is the big diference between DDR2 and DDR3? Will it matter that much in terms of performance between the two?

Someone had mentioned that the battery goes on the side of the 2096 and sticks out. I've been looking at the pictures and I don't see a slot for it or how it would look with the battery. Could someone explain what it would be like with the battery in there?

DDR2 vs DDR3 very little performance difference most noticable change should be slightly better battery life with DDR3 but otherwise difference too negligible to justify premium.

    For now.

    Hello...

I am wondering should I get the $119 Sound Card, the $99 Sound Card, or the one included? If I am not planning to have a 7.1 Surround Sound System, would that cost be useless for me?

    ^--^
    Probably.

It would be best to use the built in Intel High Definition Azalia sound card first (supports 5.1 Surround Sound), and in the unlikely event that you are not satisfied with it you can look into getting either the Creativie 5.1 or 7.1 X-Fi cards.
