    Hi Sager fans:

Have any of you heard anything about the 5320 getting the Intel Duo Core or a 64 bit processor? I am planning to get a 5320 soon (within a year max) and I don't want to buy one and then have it substantially improve just after I get it.

    Thanks for any info. :)

    I have some information.

I talked to Clevo's (They are the ODM for Sager) R&D department a few weeks ago - they said that in a few months (which is probably in March-April), the updated versions of the Sager NP-5320 and -5720 will be out. Both will have the Core Duo processor.

The M560A is the current Clevo that is rebranded for the 5320 - the M560U is the updated verision, and will feature the ATI Mobility Radeon X1600. The M570U (current Sager 5720 is the M570A) will have the Mobility Radeon X1800PRO.

Other than that, there is no more information.

Wait as long as possible to get your notebook.

i wander why is clevo puting x1800 in the next gen of their laptops. i saw some benchmarks /for desktops thou/ and x1800 was way weaker than 7800gtx. will the laptop version of ati x1800 gona be redone to stay on par with 7800gtx or is it gona be step back?

there are two 7800 gtxs, that have drastically different performance. the 7800gtx with 256 megs of ram is much slower than the 7800gtx with 512 megs of ram. the 256 performs around on par with the x1800 xt, perhaps slightly behind. the 512 one blows the x1800 away.

that said, the mobile x1800 is actually based off the x1900 chip, but less powerful of course. I don't know what performance will be, but I wouldn't put too much thought into it before seeing benchmarks.
