As my desktop becomes older and older, I've been trying to find a good solid laptop that I can drag around campus, but also hook up to a monitor, speakers, and printer, and use as a desktop replacement.
It's main uses would be graphic design, as well as video and sound editing. My max price tag is 2k, but I'd like to stay closer to $1500.
I saw that I could get a Sager 5560 with
an 80gig(5400rpm) harddrive,
Pentium M 1.73ghz processor,
2 gigs memory,
cd-r/dvd-r,
a/b/g wireless,
and an extra battery for less than $1600.
Thats pretty much everything I want, but after doing a lot of research I've seen laptops with these set ups closer to 2k or 2.5k.
Is this laptop too good to be true? My main concerns are stability, battery life, overheating, and having a quality, sturdy, machine. I've heard poor poor reviews about Alienware machines, and know Sager use the same supplier, so I'm a bit cautious.
Any info would be great, along with suggestions of different machines. Also, does Sager make docks for their laptops, or will I be swimming in cable soup?
Thanks!

Don't think there are docks, but you should give the dealer an email and ask.
That Sager has intergrated graphics if you didn't know already. Not sure how that will perform with what you are doing, -
Thanks for replying! Yeah, I wasn't sure about the graphics, but that's a good idea to get in contact with a dealer, I might be able to find one nearby and give it a spin before I buy.
