I know this laptop is quite old, but its still running fine for what I need.
I currently have 2x256 Apacer pc3200 on it but was looking to upgrade to at least 1gb. I tried using 2x512 Corsair VS pc2700 but apparently it isnt compatible. Does anyone have any personal experience or know of any modules that are guaranteed to work? Its been hard finding any information nowadays for this system. tia

Welcome to the NBR forums. :)

    That is a Clevo D500P.

    It should be able to handle up to 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR400 SO-DIMM.

You can get that almost anywhere online... like Newegg and such.

Thanks for the reply. I realize that it can handle up to 2gb ddr400, but there are a lot of compatibility issues with these notebooks. Just looking around at what little old posts are articles are still around on the model, it seems that many people have compatibility issues when trying to upgrade ram. As stated, the corsair modules I tried werent compatible. Was just wondering if anyone had personal experience with a brand that worked or what to look for in terms of specs, such as voltage or whatever, that will hopefully help with compatibility.

I use two 1GB DDR400 Kingston modules in mine.

    Works perfect. :)
