I just got the UPS tracking number from DiscountLaptops.com.

    Friday's the day!! :D :D :D :D :D

I think I'll save my 300th post to announce when it arrives. Think I can hold out from posting more messages until then? HA!!

    Congrats Jack!!!!! :D

That's awesome - now you have 3 days to go...the question is, will you make it until then before the waiting kills you? :p

Anyways, you must be really excited - I know I was.

    Congrats Jack!
I ordered from DiscountLaptops.cam as well, and delivered by Friday! I'll make sure to post pics once I've got the OS loaded. Well, at the very least after I load some games and game on it for awhile. I'll be replacing an aging dual AMD MP 1900 rig with 1Gb Ram and an ATI AIW 9800 Pro. This is my first laptop, but the new job demands portability. I'm pretty excited; I haven’t upgraded hardware in several years.

    Sager NP5720 - V
17" TFT WUXGA (1920x1200) Glare Type Display
2.0 Intel Pentium M (760) Processor (2 MB Cache, Sonoma)
    256MB GDDR3 nVIDIA GeForce Go 7800 GTX PCI-Express 16x
    2048 MB DDR2 SDRAM (533 MHz, PC-4200, Dual Channel) (2 x 1 GB)
100 GB Hard Drive (7200 RPM)
2nd Hard Drive Bay Bracket Only
    Internal 8X DVD±R/RW LightScribe (Dual Layer) + / CD-RW Combo Drive
    Integrated V.90/56K Modem (V.92 compliant)
10/100/1000BASE-TX Fast Ethernet on boardLAN Card
Internal Intel 2915ABG 802.11a/b/g Wireless LAN
    Add Internal Bluetooth Card
    8-cell Smart Lithium Ion Battery
    4-in-1 Flash Card Reader (SD/MMC/MS/MSPro)
    Integrated 1.3M Digital Video Camera
Ac Adapter w/ power cord included
    Add Direct Auto Adapter
    Free Carry Case

I do realize money would have been saved on the memory. It was hard enough to convince my wife of a laptop, let alone a memory "upgrade" from newegg.com for the new laptop.

Lastly, thanks to everyone for all the posts I've been reading over the last 2-3 weeks here. You really helped in all the research I did before buying this beast.

Bummer about the Shipping Jack, I just checked UPS and the last update was from a departure scan at 1:27am out of Baldwin Park,CA last night. Shipping schedule says On-time for delivery on the 4th. I hope it's correct!

Jack, it will be worth the wait. I got mine today and it's wonderful. Just spend the next few days resting your eyes. 1920x1200 is going to challenge your retinas like never before.

    But OH, the joy...

Thanks for the reassurances! Mine has the WSXGA+ screen, so I think my eyes will still like me after using my new beast.

hey jack what kind of car do you have, if you car is up to the task, just go to an empty parking lot late at night and do a massive burnout. that usually takes off about 2 or 3 days of angst for me just like that, i am very used to waiting for stuff to ship, whenever i order a part for my car i always find ways to help out the wait time. i've had to wait month's for a part from Japan and i almost went crazy.

Intriguing idea, Circa! I drive a Lexxus RX-330 SUV. I've been thinking about getting one of those new Hummer H3 models. Burnouts with an H3 could be highly theraputic to my tortured psyche as I struggle with the wait for my 5720. :p :p :p

Noooooo, not an H3. Just Kidding. I really don't understand peoples draw to the H2/H3. The H2 has really small windows= HUGE Blindspots and the H3 just looks funny. The fire dept. I do volunteer network admin for had a good ol' H1 that I loved to drive (sadly they sold it).

Sorry, no burnouts here with my Chevy Silverado 1500 Z71 or with the wife Lincoln Navigator. I have taken my friends Lotus Elise for a test drive and let me tell say you can definately spin the tires on that. Of course at 6'4" 250lbs. and 2 back surgeries it is not a car I would ever want to own. Took me all of 10mins to get in and get myself adjusted to a halfway comfortable position and I have no idea how long it took me to get out.

Yes - the WSXGA+ screen is awesome, and much easier for the video card to handle. The font is very easy to read, even on my 15.4" screen. No adjusting required.

I was using a WXGA screen before I ordered my Sager - I'll never go back. ;)

Its ok Ardor, they might be takign longer to ship international. But hey, on the bright side, its still the same good notebook that we all are getting!

BTW guys i bought mine with 1680x1050 rez. But if you have the UXGA screen, its only games you have to worry about. You can adjust lots of settings in windows to make even a WUXGA look like WXGA is you want, without changing resolution from WUXGA's.

Will post my grand technically intensive review in about a week!

I am looking forward to your review Datacore, we definitely need one on this site!

Yeah, I'd agree about the screen - WUXGA is a lot harder to handle for the video card than WSXGA+. I can run most games at WSXGA+ on my Sager, but WUXGA would be un-playable...then again, I don't have a Go7800GTX, but many games at that res would be difficult for even that to handle.

    I've been playing the following:

Guild Wars at 1900x1200, high quality settings with no real issues
Battlefield 2, 1600x1200, medium quality, no real issues.
    Civ 4, 1900x1200
UT2004, 1900x1200, insane settings, no issues.

I haven't had a chance to play F.E.A.R., yet, but I'm expecting that 1024x678 should be playable.

Those games must look awesome at that resolution. :D

I can play FEAR comfortably at XGA with my 256MB X700...I think you'll be able to push it to UXGA with your Go7800GTX. Keeping the Soft Shadows off provides an enormous performance boost. ;)

Yes, be sure to let us know how you fare with FEAR!

Kindly give a post what happens...
We were discussing warranty both within US and international.
Who handles return shipping cost if a defect is noted, etc...

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=30641

The first 10 days starting from shipping date (not arrival to your house) is very critical...:base:

I hope you have your laptop soon...
