I have a Sager 5760 and i have hooked up to it the Logitech 5500 5.1 speakers. I have used the manual to configure the Realtek Audio program to redirect the speaker outputs. Now my problem is that when i run the test the front left test plays out of the Front AND Rear left speakers And the Right front test play out of the Front AND Rear right speakers. The sub test produces no sound and the center produces nothing either. I have verified my jacks as plugged in the correct ports, the speaker wires are plugged into the correct points on the sub yet i still get "2 channel stereo" when i do the test. HELP ME!!

Hi jj808. This laptop supports up to 8 audio channels so you will want to go under the Realtek Control Panel and go to the "Audio I/O" tab and select the correct output for your setup. Also check the manual as it should have all this info including pics. Hope this helps.

I seem to be having a similar problem as well. I'm using Klipsch's ProMedia Ultra 5.1 Surround System and I can successfully run the audio test in the Realteck Control Panel perfectly fine. However, when I play music, it only comes out 2.1 from the two front speakers and the subwoofer. Do I need to play all my music in a specific application that provides 5.1 sound?

I would contact the manufacturer (Clevo/Sager...)directly as it could be something they missed from the manual or somehting small like that.

Did you try what maaron82773 suggested?

the audio output on the Clevo M570U is as follows:

    - headphones or 2/2.1 speakers (even from TV speakers) can be connected to headphone jack
    - analog multi-channel (up to 8-channels) can be connected to each jack

    Read this:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=96437&page=3

This is the SPDIF cable that you would use to connect to your multi-channel receiver:
    http://www.ramelectronics.net/audio...gital-audio-3-5mm-to-rca-spidf/prodSPDIF.html
    [IMG]

Its a 3.5mm minijack to RCA SPDIF cable.

Remember that your Realtek Software must be configured to whatever speaker output that you want.

I had already setup my audio through RealTek's software before I even posted ;) I certainly would have done what Maaron suggested before posting a question :)

Gophn, I read that thread last night actually and it still does not help me in my specific situation.

I am NOT using a digital signal OR a receiver so there is NOTHING in the SPDIF input on the laptop. The Klipsch ProMedia 5.1 system has 3 analog inputs:
    1) Pink - Center/Sub
    2) Green - Front speakers
    3) Black - Rear Speakers
I plugged the pink terminal into the laptop's microphone jack, the green terminal into the laptop's headphone jack and the black terminal wire into the laptop's LINE IN (blue) jack in the rear. With the speakers plugged in this fashion, the RealTek 3D Audio Demo works perfectly whereas plugging the black terminal into the SPDIF jack doesn't allow audio to come out of the rear speakers. So I've kept the wires plugged in with this configuration.

I've also clicked on the S/PDIF settings button in the digital signal box under the Audio I/O tab and clicked on NO S/PDIF Output since it was originally clicked on the Output Digital Audio Source to see if that changed anything.....and it didn't help. When the S/PDIF setting is put on either of the two options, the rear speakers (and center speaker) still do not work.

Do I need to use a program like Windows Media Player or WinAmp or something that has 5.1 surround sound capabilities to play my mp3's in order for this to work? The only music I've tested the 5.1 system on so far has been my online playlist on projectplaylist.com so maybe it doesn't have the ability to playback 5.1 sound?????

    Thanks for the help guys.

    Brian

Any suggestions guy? Should I try loading another Audio Driver? I can see that the Audio driver for a M57XU on Clevo's website is different than the driver version for the 5760 on Sager's site...
