    Hello i have been researching to get a new laptop. I primarily use it for gaming, and entertainment. I was considering the 5760, and dont know if i should get it?? Also i dont know if i should wait for the Santa Rosa???

    5760 will be awesome machine for gaming. If you can wait, wait and see what's coming out.
    But if you're planning to wait for a 17" you will have to wait until about June-July for the 8800's to hopefully come out. By June 15.4" gaming notebooks w/8600 will be out if you'd want gaming with a smaller machine.
    Also it appears that the 5760 will be phased out by the Clevo M570RU, you can search it and find some pics of it.

    I personally didn't wait, I didn't like the M570RU's looks, and I would have to wait a few months just to get the top card instead of a med-performance card that would be available on some 15.4".
    Also Santa Rosa doesn't bring forth alot of benefits for gaming notebooks, the biggest I would've though was Robson but so far I haven't seen specs of a notebook that USES Robson, they all seem to say that they support Robson but don't use it :/.

    The difference is more than just the CPU. The chipset itself is different.

    chip? if you mean GPU then no, you'll need a new motherboard in order to use the go 8800, as well as the new fans etc... to fit into the thermal design.

    If you get the 5760 you will only have the 7950GTX, even though it's not DX10, most games in the future will have a dx 9 version instead of the dx10 version.

    If you don't mind waiting for it, you should. At worst you'll be buying a 5760 once the M570RU is out and the 5760's are almost gone.

    There is no official date, but it should be sometime around June/July if not late May, but hopefully by the end of the summer when people haveta buy notebooks for college.

    The price should be pretty close to the 5760's cost maybe 100-200 more.

    I just bought a 5760 this morning ^.^. I like the look of it, too bad it may be discontinued :/.
    I bought it b/c even though it's just dx9 it's the top card for dx9, games will be available in dx9 OR dx10.

    The main benefits the M570RU will have over the NP5760 will be the dx10 card.
    Everything else won't be enough of an improvement worth the wait.
    I duno about M570RU's weight, but I know that NP5760 weights around 9.4lbs

    Here's a great quote from Gophn describing the differences between M570RU and M570U (NP5760)

    It's quite simple, really.

    Do you NEED a laptop RIGHT NOW?
    As in, absolutely have to have a laptop this instant; your job or life depends on having it.

    If yes, then buy one.
    If no, then wait.

    I believe the tentative release for the 570RU is June. But it will likely still have the 7950GTX at that point. The 8x00 series of DX10 GPUs for laptops is still a few more months down the road. But with a 570RU, you'll be able to upgrade the GPU later. Although upgrading is usually notably more expensive than waiting and buying with the newer GPU.

    I agree with Elminst. In the end, you loose nothing by waiting a couple of months to see what the M570RU brings you as far as price, features, etc.

    If you like it and feel it's price (whatever it will be), configuration, Santa Rosa Chipset, future DX10 Card capability, etc. is worth it then go for it. If not, the current M570U will still be available (who knows about the $300 discount though) and you can purchase that instead.

    So by waiting a couple of months you can't go wrong either way. Thanks to all the wonderful people here and their information, that's what I'm going to do.

    I believe a certain song by Tom Petty fits your conundrum (as well as most of us who are waiting on Santa Rosa and DX10.)

    "The waiting is the hardest part" :D

    Sager5760 = 7.5 lbs (with battery only)
    Sager9260 = 12.5 lbs (with battery only)

    That is what I got from Sager.
