No, I don't think I'm going crazy, but I think my screen is not as bright today as it was yesterday ( still looks great though ).

When battery power slipped below 10% or so, I got the warning and the screen dimmed a bit. I turned it off and today when I plugged it in I think it stayed at that level. So the question is, is there another way / place where one can adjust brightness, other than nVida controls.

Another thing I noticed. Even if I set power mixer to maximum performance when on battery power and AC power, CPU is not running at full speed when on batteries. I can tell because there is one game that is very choppy when played while on battery power, but as soon as I plug in ac power it runs at full frame rate.

Seems that these things are controlled from somewhere else ( intel chipset?? ) and if so, how do I override this?

did you try using the Brightness Toggles?

As for the CPU performance, its normal to see it at about half speed when the system is Idle, then when you are doing more CPU intesive stuff, the CPU speed should get switched dynamically to full speed.

When on battery, its default that Power Saving is set to longest life... use NHC to change it to Max Performance

I can brighten it up with brightness f9 key, but not sure about cpu. What is NHC ( notebook or nvidia hardware control? )? I'm setting power options in nvidia power meter, both set to maximum, battery and ac, but when on batteries, it just doesn't speed up enough, game plays choppy. As soon as ac is plugged in no problem, smooth as silk.
