Greetings all,
I am hoping that somebody can point in the right direction.
I want totally remove all traces of bluetooth from my laptop so that I can reinstall it all. Or a simpler solution if I am an idiot.
Situation: It all started with the Motorola S9 and bluetooth mouse. When using both at the same time, if I moved the mouse the S9 headset would have choppy transmissions. So, I bought a Targus ACBUS10 Bluetooth dongle. Installed with no issue with the most recent software. Check. All's good in the universe until one day when I could only receive in the left channel. Obviously, I did something but I have no idea what it was that I did.
So the problem is that the Motorola S9 headphones will only work in the left channel. Sometimes, it drops out totally.
The stereo headset is selected not the mono hands-free.
Testing it in playback device suggests that windows is transmitting to both channels.
The S9 works on both channels with other systems (ie motorola ipod bluetooth module).
I have disabled the onboard bluetooth.
I have uninstalled the software for the targus and run two registry scanners after the uninstall.
I have reinstalled the Targus software.
I am running Vista Ultimate x64 on a 5791 standard box
I am running SP1 but the problem existed before the SP1 upgrade.
This obviously not an impediment to work but it is really getting under my skin that I cannot fix this problem.
Thank you in advance to any assistance that you (plural) can give me.

well i would start with device manager and remove the device and choose to delete the drivers. than get yourself a good reg cleaner i recc jv16, run that and delete found keys, then you may have to do a bit more work but that will be a good start

zfactor,
Apologies for not thanking you for your response; did not realize that you had.
Have gone down that road but will do so again with recommended cleaner. Will post response when complete.
Thanks,
