The left hinge on my lcd is broken. On the back of the laptop it looks like there are 2 screws that go into the lcd hinge. The outside screw appears to screw into a long metal post that goes from the screen down into the body of the laptop. That metal post is broken right at the hole where the screws is supposed to go. (weakened by the hole for the screw?)

Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions as to how to fix? I'm out of the warranty period from Sager and from xoticpc.

A lot of people have gone through the same Hinge problem, including me, lol. Contact/Email Sager and ask to buy the Hinges. They sell them by the pair ($30) and probably best to replace both hinges. It's an easy repair.
    Best of luck.

Thanks for the info shotthedeputy. Where could I see instructions on how to repair? I've never messed around with an lcd before.

I don't quite remember the site with the instructions on hinge replacements, but a quick Google or NBR search should help.
Now what I do remember doing was removing the screws directly below the screen, detaching the screen from the body. Removing the screws on the screen while deathly trying not to disturb any of the components leading to the LCD.
It's strangely simple once you actually see the parts.

I'm sure someone here can describe the process/procedure much better than I, so best of luck!
