Hey guys, I bought a 8130 a while back (while they still had GTX460m's in them) and I wanted to upgrade my GPU. I was wondering, where can I buy a laptop GPU? I cant seem to find any on-line. I know I will also need a new PSU. Is there any way to get everything in a bundle? I wanted to upgrade to a GTX485m. Is there a guide any where that shows me all the steps needed to replace my GPU? Thanks for the help

Well if you have an GTX460 you might want to keep with nvidia. Not sure if this is true or not (take it with a grain of salt...) but I think the heatsinks are the same for the GTX 460 --> GTX 560 --> GTX 485 --> GTX 580. (confirm before you purchase, but I think this is the case)

I know rjtech sells the cards (pay a bit of a premium for them still) - Laptop Video Cards - R&J Technology, Clevo Barebone Notebook kits, Laptop and desktop system builder

You can also find MXM compatible cards on ebay of course - GTX 485m | eBay

As far as a guide check the forums, I'm seeing people have reported success in upgrading, but as far as a step by step guide not sure.

I do know that the Sager NP 8130/8150 service manual gives some fairly detailed instructions. The only hiccup would be to make sure your GPU HEATSINK is compatible with the new upgrade.

check with the resellers, they might be able to help you spec out a price on a full GPU + heatsink for your unit.... just remember to also upgrade your power brick! The 8130 uses a smaller wattage brick that would need to be upgraded if you went through with this (again check the forums).

Thanks a lot for your post. It's definitely helped me out. As far as prices though, way to crazy, didn't know it was THAT expensive. At that price I might as well buy a gaming desktop. Any way, thanks a lot for the help! :)
