When I change the volume level of the sub in the realtek interface (system tray>volume>Speakers>Levels) I never hear any change in the sound. To try to verifiy if the sub is working, if I shut off the front channels so that there isn't any sound, there is no sound at all coming from the sub with it's volume turned all the way up. How do I set the sub level on this model sager??

Try playing a game that specifically says 2.1 or 5.1, that might get the sub to kick on.

Silly question, but did you register your THX software? That's the only way to enable the subwoofer to begin with.

There should be a link on your desktop as a shortcut, or you can go via the Creative folder on your start menu. The link should be something along the lines of "Register THX". If you don't see that option for THX, it means you probably activated it.

If you turn off the front speakers and have the sub up to 100%, can u hear anything coming from the sub?

I still think the "subwoofer" is pretty damn hilarious. :) Ill be using studio headphones or my logitech z-5500 speakers. Laptop speakers just don't cut it. They have become MUCH better than they used to be in the past, but there is only so much you can do with the tiny space. Not even Bose can make them sound amazing.

It's not really a subwoofer, it's a low frequency driver. I've rarely heard much coming from it.

Of course it's not a "real" sub woofer, but my point is that I can't hear any difference in sound with the sub slider on 100% or 0%.
