    Sager 8150 and AMD Catalyst 12.8 Problems?

    I just tried to download the newest drivers released 8/15/12, when I click the installed it pops up,when i click install it extracts a few things but never continues on with the install... what gives? My card is ATI Mobility Radeon HD6990

    Where are those things being extracted?

    Did you try going to that location and looking for a setup to run?

    Well what was extracted went to the AmD folder. Only one file had a recent date and that was the setup.exe I ran it and it did pretty much the same as the installer, vanished after it checked something. Strange thing is the exe frOm amds official site is 1.1MB i don't remember a past installer that was so small. I sent amd customer service a message about the issue. Waiting for something back

    From AMD.com directly. They responded via email saying to make sure my .NET is updated. Told them I keep my windows updated to the day. Now awaiting yet more useless help from them :(

    did you custom installation + on m17x alineware forum they said there 6990 problem with 12.8. for custom installation > install clevo driver , make sure you do clean install and remove everything with amd related, use driver sweeper> download 12.8> choose custom> de-select all and tick only amd display driver > install

    so i used that link provided, everything installed but it still shows 12.6

    Ok reinstalled and used the driver sweeper mentioned, now im getting this

    Out of the catalyst control manager that comes with the drivers. 8.982 are the most current ones so I assume I'm updated and good to go now

    yup yup driver version 8.982 is catalyst 12.8 whql. u really are good to go :)
