I've owned both Dell and Sager. Will NEVER return to Dell.

Xotic is a good re-seller. They promptly answered all my ridiculous emails abt my Sager. Justin @ Xotic has been the best and speaks perfect English.

Does any Sager reseller offer international warranty or something like that?

sager hands down. their warranty is top notch. 3 years ago i ordered a np2092 and the mobo died on me two days after i received it. i had to send it in for repair. had it back in 7days. still works beautifully and is for sale. it's hard getting service like that these days.

If you are abroad, and there is a problem with your Sager that you cannot resolve yourself, then it will have to be shipped back to Sager or your reseller in the US. I believe you will have to pony up the shipping charges for that.

Regarding which reseller to choose, most people here are going to point you to the resellers that they bought from (I bought from LPC-Digital). However, you will be doing yourself an injustice if you just speak to one or two of them. Talk to a bunch, and then you will have a pretty good idea which one of them is right for you. Most of the resellers, especially the ones that are active on NBR, are decent. Also, please do not create a reseller vs reseller thread - that somehow almost always results in some kind of reseller deathmatch :p

As for prices, if you are just buying straight-up Sager, then reseller advertised prices, ie. prices shown on their sites, etc, are regulated by Sager. This is another good reason to speak to them individually, as some might be able to offer you discounts that others will not.

If you are buying a Clevo rebrand, like Mythlogic, then the reseller has greater control of the prices.

There are some resellers that aren't in the US. If you tell us where you are, one of us may be able to help you find a more local source. :)

    Wow!

Thank you for your amazing help guys!!! I really appreciate it!

Well right now i am staying in San Francisco ( at least till october) after that it depends if i find a job here. If not i am going back to germany. And therefore i need to make sure that the warranty still works and makes sense.

    Thanks again.

I am kind of bussy with my program right now thats why i cant do the researcall on my own.

    Best,

    Ben

It is important to note that most of these are Clevo, and not Sager, resellers. What that means is that they are pretty much in the same position as Sager, where they receive barebones shipments from Clevo (or a Clevo distributor, such as Sager), and assemble machines using parts that they source themselves.

As many of these are smaller businesses compared to Sager, you are likely to receive very personalized service, such as that provided by Mythlogic. Also, because they are smaller businesses, there is a slightly higher risk that they might go out of business. Just a couple days ago, someone had made a thread about Cizmo, a German reseller, where they had sent their notebook for repair, but have not received any communication from them for a couple months now.

A couple better known European resellers that were missing from the above list:

    UK:
Kobalt Computers: User Pman is their new rep on NBR.

    Germany:
    Deviltech
    mySN - SchenkerNotebook

Do you think that there is a chance that such resellers will repair my saeger and do this on a bases where they then charge the US- reseller? ;-)))

Or how can i can get the advantage of buying my machine here in the States (dollar vs euro) and then also get a warranty for germany?

maybe you should wait til you get a job and see if your status will be here in the states. if you buy here and then end up in germany, won't you be in the same boat? worrying about int'l warranty?

Yeah...I am not sure if it works that way. Though I am sure the EU resellers would do it for you if you paid them. :p

Like Pukemon said, you are better off confirming your plans first.

im based in the philippines and i have bought 2 sae=gers from xoticpc.
although at first, the lack of an intl warranty seemed to be an issue, these are built well and if you dont find any issues in your first month, chances are your machine is going to last a while.
also, some resellers will allow an advanced rma. they ship you the replacement part and debit your cc, and you then ship them the defective part and credit back the same amount. that alone makes warranty claims much easier to deal with.

As an international customer, I have also explored a lot of possibilities favorable to me. One of which is the ease for warranty claims. Other resellers would require the whole unit to be shipped to them for repairs. But there's still hope! You may talk to MYTHLOGIC for the possibility of "cross-shipping".

Just talked with a guy from mythLogic (he called after their business hours !).

Really friendly contact and very qualified and helpful!!

He said that they assemble everything themselves and then test it and disassemble if it is not at a certain sgandard. He even offered me to ask some resellers in Germany to see if there is a chance to have a corporation.

Well my configuration comes to 2400usd. So if they can give me a good price and if the warranty/service will get fixed too...well I think I just found my new notebook. The only thing I really dont like is the 2-3 week production time...

Figured you might want to know that they will in fact disassemble or build a new one if something's not working right. On the night before mine was to be shipped it stopped turning on during testing. With only a day's delay for shipping they built and tested a new laptop for me. They make sure it works before you get it. :D

As for the build time. Nothing you can really do about that but go buy a new laptop in stores. But we don't really want to do that now do we? ;)

i ordered my laptops from xoticpc. i ahd them ship it to a courier in new york and the courier took charge of delivering it to my country.
i had both my battery and bd-rom drive replaced without any hassle.
im sure other resellers have the same policy on advanced rma. note that the only thing that they will not advance rma is the screen= that is why i got the 0 dead pixel policy for added insurance.
