    Hello everyone!

I just bought a Sager 8170 and I'm quite happy with (although I really miss the backlit keyboard that previous laptop had LOL)

The thing is that, and correcto if I'm mistaken, this laptop comes with 5.1 speakers built-in, but so far I haven't been able to enable 2.0 to 5.1 upmixing anywhere.

I believe the option should appear on the Realtek Control Panel just below the "Switch subwoofer- centre speakers" but in my case there's nothing else to select.

I have tried with both, Sager's drivers, and the latest Realtek (2.65) but still no luck. Anyone knows how to solve this?

    thanks!

hi larry , after i installed the driver above, when i pressed fn+5 all i get is mute :(

before i updated the driver, fn+5 toggle the 2.0 or the 5.1, any idea to remedy this?

I have tried with the ones you've provided me and they DO have an option for upmixing at the Realtek control panel, although they are an older version (R2.49)

    ...how come...? o_O

Also, for some reason I've lost the THX TruStudio capabilities...

It's one of the two unlisted function keys on this model. FN + 1 turns the fans on at max speed and FN + 5 is the speaker shortcut. FN +1 works on other models, but the speaker key is P170HM specific.
