I currently use a Dell Latitude d820 for browsing, software development and a small amount of video gaming. I use it alot on my lap, either lying in bed or in a chair. It gets warm but I manage. Sometimes I put a magazine or something on my legs.
I am looking at the 8690 and 8760 and they have fans on the bottom. I can't decide if that is better or worse for using on the lap, so I thought I would ask. How well do these work when used on your lap directory or otherwise?

    Thanks!

Just use a desk. Anyway, don't use it in bed. The material causes it to get hotter.

I have two nice desktops at two nice desks. Sometimes I just want to lay down, watch tv and use my computer. Other times I'm at another location where I'm just relaxing in a lazy boy.
Maybe these Sagers are just too macho for me :)

Clevo notebooks are made to be used on a flat surface, but you can get yourself a notebook tray such as an Xpad if you want to use your notebook on your lap.
