Hey yall,i bought a pc from xotic a lil back when. I had some issues so i reinstalled the os and well most of them went away magically!
now well my issue is with Hotkey the software to control thebacklighting
Whenever this software is installed. I can be playing a game using only the q w e a s d r t z x c shift and tab keys. Pressing any random amount of strokes or combos can send me back to the desktop while im playing a game.
I have tried the latest version to no avail.
I cant even find a manual for this software.
I really chose this version of the p1xx for the backlit keyboard, i aways wanted one. Now it seems to use my machine functionally i gotta remove hotkey but at the same time i lose my keyboard glow control. Any help or anyone know of any software to remedy whats going on? Is there a way to disable these stupid clevo shortcuts that they dont tell you about anywhere.
i was just playing borderlands i watched myself tap w while holding shift and bam went to desktop. went back in game pressed. z x c bam back to desktop.
played skyrim pressed random keys going along the alphabet bam back to desktop.
I hate HATE HATE! hotkey, but i want my backlighting. I also have the wifi realtek issues everyone else has where it loses the default gateway forever and no driver updates help, you just have to disable the device and renable. which i can do from hotkey very easily.
I have googled long and far and searched for along time now to no avail other than "uninstall hotkey"
I like the performance of my machine its a i7 3630qm 680m 16gbs ddr33 ssd for os with a extra hdd for space. but man... does it got some issues..
I could rma it but i feel that wont help if everyone has those issues also., plus i dont want the downtime from my machine.

doesn't sound like a hotkey issue, maybe more of an OS issue, I would reformat and install the stock drivers from the CD in order or visit the Driver thread in my sig to find the latest drivers for windows 7 and windows 8.

You can try a chipset driver or a firmware update for the keyboard. The only other thing I can think of to try is to uninstall the keyboard driver in device manager, then let Windows re install it for you and see if the solves the odd task switching.

As for WiFi, simple solution. Get rid of it and get yourself an Intel or Killer WiFi, it costs a whole $20, and you get much better reception and speed. Note being a about it, it's totally worth it to spend the $20 and just get yourself a better WiFi card. Why wouldn't you do it anyway? If you got great internet service, good wireless N dual band router, and then crummy WiFi card, doesn't make sense. -

well i find your response rude and unhelpful. seems like an attack, i didnt come here to rant and rave i came for some solutions and help which i have seen advice from prostar and vuman.
I have done these things. Reinstalled os.
Played with hotkey installed and not installed.
used an external keyboard with sucess.
The wireless situation is being resolved as im getting a swap.
The keyboard works fine without hotkey.
After talking to Sager the issue that matches mine is hotkey causes a popup box, which will interrupt gameplay for most people, for me it sends me back to desktop its like alt tabbing to the box. Its just a matter of clevo working on that issue.
Thank you for being useless. hula,
Thankyou for helpful advice Vu and Pro -

Now that I come across this thread again, I believe this issue has come up elsewhere too. It would seem to be some sort of firmware discrepancy, although I haven't found anything official to allude to that theory. -
had the same issue due to the new intel drivers (hd4000). search for programs in your startuplist and disable the intel hotkeys. this worked for me! i also did reinstall the clevo hotkey drivers afterwards, but i don't know if it's required.
