Hi, I want to ask you all whether this spec looks good. A few modifications are GTX 675m, Bigfoot networks killer, 1333mhz ram. I wonder whether I should wait until when the Ivy CPU and new Kepler or 7000 series graphic cards come out. What do you think?

The build looks good. Consider an SSD as the primary drive and the 500GB for a second drive for storage. The Intel 520 120GB drives are great and will really increase how snappy your computer feels. Also if you dont have a copy of Windows ready to install you'll want to add that as well.

You could wait for IB or the new video cards but the video cards could be a wait. IB is supposed to be available on the 29th so with it being just a couple weeks out it wouldnt hurt too much to wait for those.

The 675M is just a re-branded 580M (still on fermi). Not really a *new* card.

The new cards will be the ATI 7970M and the Nvidia 680M. Rumours of around 30% increase from the current ATI 6990M and the Nvidia 580/675M.

I didn't wait.. I pulled the trigger last week. 2 reasons.

    1) The 675M is an absolute steel right now. For $100 more you can get what was a $450 upgrade and the best card on the market. The "new" cards" 680M kepler cards won't arrive anytime soon I don't think.

    2) I get Intel chips super cheap so the upgrade to the IB won't be a big $ issue.

All of the new Sager/Clevo comps come with the HM77 Chipset that supports both SB and IB chips. So you would be able to upgrade your chip at anytime.

I'm pretty comfortable with the 675M choice and will upgrade next year when the cards are actual serious upgrades and not a bunch of rebrands
