I was wondering what if any programs people were using to monitor temps and fans for their 9260 or 9261? If so what kind of temps are you seeing? I am mostly just curious I am considering getting a laptop cooler to help when stressing the sytem but thought I would ask a few questions first to see if it was really required.

I am about to add Everest and RMclock to it soon... since NHC is not great for notebooks using desktop CPUs.

For example, my desktop CPU (and battery) using RMclock:

A guide will be added soon... when I can get an hour or two free from work or school. :)

Cool! Thanks I will read through it some more later tonight or in the morning. Right Mark might be what I am looking for. I give it a go and see how it is. I am just looking around now. I would like to ensure keeping this comp in good shape for as long as I can.

Make sure that you do. ;)

If I can just get people to understand that you have to take care of your notebook for it to take of you back... then my job is accomplished.

I understand! For me it is easy I paid top dollar for the best and I want to keep it in the best shape that I can. I have my older systems to take out and get beat up when required but this is my baby for now.

I can appreciate that I know my other machines are in good shape. But it is time to sit down and clean them out again.

Well just tried RM Clock and it doesn't work with Vista 64. Guess I will keep looking. Speed Fan works though as well as Riva Tuner. Getting closer.

    KB932596 is the culprit.

To fix this issue in Vista x64: Windows Key + E > Uninstall or change a program > View installed updates
    Find KB932596, uninstall it, reboot.

    RMClock 2.30.1 should now work.

And you might need to disable UAC.
... or disable unsigned drivers BS:
    - Open a command prompt window and type: bcdedit.exe -set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECK

I will give that a try a later. But for now using speed fan to monitor the CPU temps and running wPrime 1024M test and fan control normal I hit 58C 54C 53C 55C on cores 0-3. I ran the same test using the Fn+1 and read 55C 53C 53C 55C. So it seems to me the best thing to when running system stressing apps is to go with Fn+1. At idle I get 43C 41C 39C 42C with the Fn+1 I get at idle 35C 34C 31C 35C. I will run this again later and update this was just a quick test to see what the temps were like.
