Hey guys,
I'm trying to compare a few gaming systems and their temperature when idle and gaming. For the Alienware M15x, from bootup, it starts at 56C and then 15-20 minutes it reaches 87C then the fan kicks in and temp drops to 74C-76C and then it jumps back to 82C-84C and is steady at this temp. (this is for gaming)
Whats the temp for the sager 9262 model when idel and when gaming? Thanks
-
When idle the cpu gets between 45 - 55 C and the GPU is around 40 C (I think). With max fan speed CPU is in the mid 30s and I can't remember what the GPU temp is.
When gaming with max fan speed the GPU won't really go above 50C but without max fan speed on it will get as high as 70 C. Overall, as long as you turn the fans on when gaming this thing runs pretty cool. and when not gaming is runs fine and quiet. -
Normal Fans: Idle=52 High=70
High Fans: Idle=44 High=55
Temperatures measured with the computer on my lap on a simple lapboard (two pieces of pegboard with quarter inch spacers between them). The high temperature is the stabilized maximum seen while running the Crysis benchmark (1920x1200 High). -
Normal Fans: Idle=32-34 high=50-55

amazing cool on these sager systems, that low of temp on such a high powered gaming desktop is awesome, I should get a sager instead lol ty for your feedback

the d901c is the coolest notebook designed in the planet.
that's that.
the alienware is a total flop. they should be ashamed of letting it go out of R&D.
plus they lie to customers and say that it doesn't overheat when it in fact totally does. -
yes I totally agree Dex, unfortunatly they are the only one atm with a 15.4 gaming notebook, I really been pushing the issue of buying one but day after day just negitive feedbacks. I thought 80C as a max peak was too high, now I gotta deal with the fact taht the M15x's heat is so inconsistent, fans are going from low-high countless times so often and in many cases on the M15x fourms, they reach 100C-104C, big failure there. The m15x community in nbr been trying to contact tech support and they seem to think its normal for it to reach 90C-100C+, so now I might have to spend an extra $1000 and get an sli dell or sager.
Btw dex can you give me an update on the performance and benchmark scores of the SLI sagers now compared to the 1730 dell? I remember making a post a few weeks ago that you replied too, I'm wondering what the outcome was -
He`s got it in his sig. OCed both the CPU and GPU gave him a 2k boost in 3dmarks.
-
no he only has 1 card elec, we were discussing few weeks back about sli meaning two cards
-
Yes,but his single card OCed , and the CPU OCed gets 12.3k, which is what a lot of 8800M GTX users get on stock SLI
Sager 9262 GPU Temperature, please post!
