Hey guys:
I am new to this forum, but wanted to share with you what I recently ordered. I just went ahead and maxed out everything on this machine. It's a little late in the game to ask for advice on which gaming laptop to purchase, but if anyone knows of any hiccups, bugs, fixes, etc. that I may need to know about once I boot her up, that would be helpful. I have asked about overclocking on the CPU ad GPU, but have received several variations. So once I get it, I might just plant some pictures or video of her in here along with my own findings as for setup, benchmarks, etc. Thanks for any input you may have.
This will confirm your order for:

variations huh....
1: no cpu over clocking
2: you can how ever pin mod a q6600 2.4 ghz up to a 3.0 ghz
3: no you can not edit the bios
4: you can vbios over clock your gpu's
5: you can over clock your gpu shaders via ntune system software from nvidia
these are of course...proven at least by me. -
Welcome to the NBR forums.
thanks for sharing your awesome fully loaded rig.
but john is correct, there has yet to be any successful OC'ing of the CPU in this notebook through non-existent options in BIOS or software programs.
- the only proven successful OC was with the Q6600 (G0-stepping) pin mod.
Hell of a spec'ed system you got there though... although I would have gone with three 320GB 5400rpm drives instead (since they perform as well as the 200GB 7200rpm drives due to their high density). -
Lol...dude your not maxxed out!
2GB SLI is maxxed out! Step ya game up! -
DUAL nVIDIA GeForce 9800M GTX 1GB in SLi -
Just to be a nit-picker:
1GB is, actually, the more honest statement because, even though each card has 1GB onboard, when the cards are put into SLi configuration, the system only "sees" the memory for one of the cards, not both, so it effectively ends up being 1GB in SLi, too. -
Nice! I would have waited for the new system to come out sometime next year, but thats a long time to wait...
-
wow.
that is seriously cool.
oh yeah.. Welcome to the forums and.. GRATZ on that one hell of a machine!!
post some benchies man
EDIT: Welcome to the family too!!!! -
welcome to the forum mate.. nice rig by the way..!!
-
Thanks guys, I thought I would add the fact that I purchased this laptop from Powernotebooks.com. They were extremely helpful in the selection process, and as much as I appreciate a "live" person in a sale like this, I would have to say that Powernotebooks.com exceeds any customer service I have ever dealt with. I am still confused
on the posts referring to the 1GB or 2GB in dual SLI configuration, but overall I believe it will perform well enough for my needs. Thanks for the welcome aboard, and now that I know how to post in here....long story...., I will check back here more often to share any feedback I have on this purchase, as well as to learn from those who share their information as well. Merry Christmas to all!

Wow, very nice setup you got there. I'm still amazed by the crazy CPUs this chassis can handle
. You should mess with your WEI score and write everything as 9.9, then you have real bragging rights since so many people blindly trust those numbers
.
If you're still confused about the vRAM in SLI, you have 1GB of it; you have 1GB per card (1GBx2cards=2GB) but you can only use 1GB in SLI. -
really? people with gtx's trust the wei???
although i like to look at all the 5.9's -
Well I was talking about the people without GTX's, which is probably about 96% of the notebook community
. I actually have a friend who believed that Alienware makes the best computers in the world; when I told him I got a gaming notebook that was on par with Alienware's he (really) said "Lemme look at your WEI score so you can prove it." I nearly fell off my chair laughing
.
I like looking at my 9.9'salthough a 9.9 WEI score would look better on a beast such as the NP9262
-
They just rebrand their notebooks from Quanta and Arima.... previously Uniwill, Clevo, etc... -
Oh don't worry Gophn, I got him re-educated
. Thats why I said "believed". Hmm, looks like the list of boutique brands and the notebooks they rebrand has been removed, that article was so much longer
.

That's a nice article, insanexiii. And a very nice rig, colarguns. Enjoy it, and be sure to post some benchmarks.

hi, new to this forum and after weeks of searching i have decided on the sager 9262 configered as follows:
17" Wide Viewing Angles WUXGA LCD with Super Glossy Surface- Intel® Core 2 Quad Processor Q9650 / 12MB L2 Cache, 3.0GHz Dual Nvidia GeForce 9800M GTX Graphics with 1GB DDR3 Video Memory in SLI mode- Genuine MS Windows® VISTA ULTIMATE 32/64-Bit Edition
8GB Dual Channel DDR2
Primary Hard Disk Drive: 250GB 7200rpm SATA 300 Hard Drive
Optical Drive: 2X Blu-ray Reader/8X DVD±R/2.4X +DL Super-Multi Drive & Software
i won't need the storage capacity so i skipped the raid 0 -
-
i'm going to order it in the next couple of days when my c.c. payment goes through and gives me some buying room
-
sounds nice. you wont be disappointed either!
this lappy is still king of the block! -
That is one NICE config. Though what sort of score would a single 7200rpm 2.5 drive get in wei on a quadcore lappy?
I think it will be about 5.4, while the rest are high as 5.8/5.9. Not that wei means anything, but if one already decided to spend this much, raid config would be handy in io intensive apps and games; especially since said is available, why not take advantage of it? otherwise the disk will perform like a $1k midrange laptop. -
its funny how you see a alienware guy showing off his WEI score =0
literally ROFL man! -
You shoulda gotten the cheapest HDD and gotten 3x500GB 7200RPM Seagate 7200.4s. 1.5TB of storage is insane for a laptop.
-
i've actually decided on going for a raid 0 setup, i tried my desktop with a fresh format and no raid compared to its previous raid 0 setup. its worth the money for the raid, to me at least.
on a different note, i didn't happen to notice anything on the 9262 having an HDMI port, any owners or people with knowledge of the machine let me know please? its not a deal breaker but it would be nice to plug into my tv -
Nope. No HDMI port on the 9262.

no problem
