    - CoD4
    - AoE3 + exp
    - Original starcraft + broodwar
    - WoW is amazing but be very careful, I had to quit and leave my geared out toon behind because after a while that game consumes you

    - Starcraft 2 looks pretty legit =P

Yeah I ve needed the rig for now. I m sure the 9800GTX SLI would be better but I just cant wait anylonger. + I dont think that the 9800GTX is actually going to be a whole lot faster and its not like the 9800GT SLI wont play games ;)

I happen to know that Costco sells that exact canned air in bulk for mucccchh cheaper. Around where I live they send trial memberships in the mail once in a while if you aren't a member, or borrow a friends card.

    Edit: http://www.costco.com/Browse/Produc...=0&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&Nty=1&topnav=&s=1

12 pack of 12 oz. cans. $34.99 (less than 3 bucks per can)

Yeah, I hear that. Last Monday I went into phase II. xoticpc as well.
    17" WSXGA+ (1680x1050)1x 512MB DDR3 nVIDIA 9800M GTX SLi Enabled(Next year)Intel® Core 2 Quad 2.66 Ghz"Conroe" 64-Bit 1333MHz FSB & 12MB L2 Cache (I'm going xeon next year)4GB DDR2 800MHz (again, I'll get a 4GB Stick when they become available and get a max of 6GB) 1x160GB SATA 5400 RPM

Um, World of Warcraft count? I'm sitting on that.

I didn't opt for solid state as the data transferr rates I found, even though they are solid state aren't impressive. something like 72Mb sec as opposed to 1.5GB a sec for a 5400 SATA and 3GB/sec for 7200.
With a 54MB/SEC write time. I do however see much potential with SS. As soon as they get it around 2Ghz a sec and low cost it will be in fact one of the better options (As it will replace system RAM entirely.
Note to self. Can you make Cache RAM out of a Solid State drive.
Not to mention size and cost of it, as of yet. But I still have two open drive bays, a screwdriver, and time...
I've also max read the forums here in search of overclocking. Guess what? It can be done with a bios flash (YAY).
Most the guys who've posted list non SLI as faster...
Not to knock your machine. Their totally boss. I've needed one, and again, like you, my first gaming machine.
I'm also playing catch up (The microsoft/office dilema, where you struggle to make compatibility over a course of several years, potentially as long as a decade.)

I was a nervous wreck Monday when I ordered any way. My car blew up. Completely
    So what.
I nearly flipped my lid that day too.
    No harm done.
But, I got my Pell grant and my plans would indeed bear fruit.
Been looking at this PC for over a month.
    Needed it.
Also got a Belkin Router, but in my haste I bought an 'n' series.
But, so what. My internet only goes 5MB, it goes 3MB.
It will work for now. What I really want is an ovation 'novatel U720 to take apart and put where the TV Tuner would have been. Likely it's a cheaper alternative to an embedded solution. Mostly cause their pushing the 727 now, and the old 720s go neatly on the junk heap.
Should be say November, before I can call my sprint store and find one for around 8 dollars.
    Which suits my budget fine.
Then I could get GPS and Lojack tracking. Plus mobile broadband. Which goes faster than either my router or my internet con, but its so damn expensive. Most plans I see are 70 a month for 5GB.
Still spending much time praying I make shipping Monday.
As I also opted for overnight delivery.
I'll probably keep my eye open for an HD Stick or USB tuner too.
Besides if you've ever played with antenna HDTV, you've seen the advantage of HD over the air waves (As much as I don't want an external device sticking out of it. But on the back forty somewhere it would be a good thing.
HD Antenna signal (It's either on or off, and 1080, looks better than cable.)
    Ho humm.
Did you in your search, ever seeketh the 900 portanote?
I originally sought a kit, and I wanted it in blue.
The one place in Sweden that sold them, wants a few dollars for them. So did the one kit I found (no offense to anyone folks).
Heck from what I heard, (And I have an uncle in Thailand) you can't even get one from Clevo.
Which figure. I'm glad I got mine from xotic before they go wholesaler like Sager is in the process of doing.

Just a show of hands here, how many people bought 9262s this week?

Would the quad core xeon in your Apple fit in your clevo/sager?
Better go check at Eurocomm, they had all the available (presently) processors.
I mean it is a pure gaming machine is it not.
Would not 3.2 x four really kick more butt, saving you months of precious time whilst gaming?

Unfortunately, the video doesn't state what laptop it is. It looks to me like a clevo type laptop but I cant tell exactly. He runs Crysis at 1920x1200 with Ultra High Details at 31fps constantly. Thats really an achievement.

    P.S.
    Why cant u open youtube??

    You gonna tape mod it?
Here it is shown to ramp up a Q6600 (It works on all socket 775 processors
    [IMG]

Here it is again used on the 9450 to create a poor mans Xeon (A qx9770) effectively creating 400Mhzx8 or 3.24 Ghz
    [IMG]

:D And a 1600Mhz FSB. Anyone gonna do this with theirs?

I already have the tape cut, and my teeny screwdriver out of the drawer.

Then I'm going to over ramp the shaders and the voltage as illustrated here
HOW-TO: Overclock 9262 *8800m* unlock shaders remap Vids and Voltmod
Again, this is a standard OC procedure for a Sager 9262 as illustrated on the somewhat older 8800m video.

Anyone else out there a fan of, user of, or a going to?

I have seen some unreal sysmark scores out there.

I saw some 13000's without the shaders.

And, does that 3.24 in your Apple fit your Sager?

Is it 775. About how fast would it go as illustrated above?

Perhaps standard logic might assume 3.75Ghz. What is the max speed of the Sagers chipset. Anyone know that?

I thought it wasnt possible to OC a 9550 or anything after the q6600 even with the tape mod?

if it's doable, that's deffinitely an option for me, i have a 9262 with a 9550 in it - i would like to push it if i could

on that note: what about overclocking a quadro fx 1600m??? has anyone done/heard of someone doing that?? - i have to wait for the 3600m but i dont think ill have enough money to upgrade when its out

Looks like your going to have to study NiBiToR. Get a copy,

You'll also need a flash drive, and two bioses for your machine. My guess is they might be the same ones mentioned in the above article about overclocking your shaders.

Cause its a 9262 right? I believe those are the bioses you use.

As a last resort, type that string "overclocking a quadrro FX 1500m" into Google. I think I've seen it already. Probably though, it's the same thing I described here

    Alright but whats LGA 771?

I'm gonna tape mod mine. How could you not want it going 3.24 GHz?

I mean that's the speed your (dual! What did you say you did for a living? It's not too late to change my major) Xeon(s) are going.

Seen the real pretty apple desktop, the one with 32 GB of RAM and 4 TB of raid.
    Only 30k!

Wonder what kind of sysmark scores those make.

And does apple have a windows emulator for games?

I'm thinking dual quads would get these crysis people all in a rage.

    SysMark scores 23000 +

Why doesn't this happen or is apple a protected mode that is like Linux? Basically non 3-d

And, if so what is it you people are doingwith dual quads that is so intensive. I mean are you building spaceships somewhere?

    Sheesh.

    Dual Quads.

    I say tape them both!

8Ghz appeals to me LGA771 or what ever.

That and find a way to get 3 d on it, and run them windows games.

MORE THAN A GAMING PLATFORM IS WINDOWS!!!

Although I'm getting quite linux damn savvy.

It was pretty stable. It was only running at 720p, so that was a much lower resolution than my Sager.

Wouldn't you get awesome results on your games like Crysis running them on your Powerbook pro?
It seems to be pretty stout..
Couldn't you just run windows on it?

Eleron you have a smashing good guide.
Add Nibitor if they allow a wiki post (What's invloved in that BTW?)
For Nvidia based cards. Theres an excellent post on it " HOW-TO: Overclock 9262 *8800m* unlock shaders remap Vids and Voltmod"
It's basically flashing your bios to apply voltage maps recalculated voltages upgraded tabels remapped shaders, far side ram usage etc.
Since you are really good with ATI.
Why does no one run Windows on Apples?
They seem to be quite the machines...

Oh and the rocketfish headphones are actually on sale now for $29 and they are very very good and have great noise canceling. Bought them specifically for Doom3 and Fear :D

Ohh. S.T.A.L.K.E.R., good taste. Anyone else here rabidly anticipating Fallout 3? It's probably about 1/4 of the motivation for the NP9262 I ordered about 2 hours ago.

I just hate waiting :( I feel like I m waisting my life when I dont do sth, and the worst part is that I cant multi task very well. I have to finish one thing to begin another one and so on. So I cant concentrate very well on different stuff until the 9262 arrives safely and I know the deal is done and I can move on.
