    i7 - 920
    12GB RAM
    gtx 280m GT video card
    3 HDD bays (2x120gb,1x80gb SSDs)
    17.3 1920x1200
    HDMI,USB,DVI

    I want to get this system but was wondering if its still a pretty powerful system?


    what about price - how much is it worth? thanks.

    Depends on what you want to do. For gaming it will depend on the games you want to play. The GTX 280M was the current card about 4-5yrs ago so if you're playing games around then it will handle them well. Any new games it will still run but on low/medium settings.

    I think a fair price for that would be ~$500-600.

    How much are you planning on paying for this? For $1000 you can get a new Sager with much better hardware.

    It's relatively powerful, albeit outdated. The cost will determine whether it's worth it or not. You will probably be better off with a different, current model depending on what the seller is asking.

    If you buy a configuration with gtx860m, you will be FAR better off than with this old gtx280m. It will run cooler, have better battery life, better driver support, better framerates, better everything.
