    Hello there,

I'm struggling between the choice of 7970M and 680M on Sager 9370 laptop. So far 680M seems lesser trouble, but pricy... so looking at 7970M.

There lots of post about the stability and compatible issue on gaming with 7970M, Is it just because of the CC driver that handle Enduro function at all, or any structural architect inside the GPU? I don't have experience with the new generation nvidia card gaming, but on my current laptop which using 540M, I can force the program running with nvidia chips by right-clicking and select the GPU to start with the game, it will prevent the Intel display kicking in. If the same skills is work, can I just do the same on a 7970M? Or , the Enduro is some more advance features that is out of my head which cannot be eliminate easily like this??

    All comments are welcome!

no troubles on the 9370, since it doesnt sport switchable graphics :) no matter which choice u make (680m/7970m), ull always be running on the discrete gpu :)

    Sounds cool!

So how's the compatibility of 7970M these day? Does it get a stable, well optimized driver from AMD, as well as highly utilized GPU performance and stable (no unpredictable frame drop, blue screen, flickering, bla bla bla) among most gaming???

well i myself never had any troubles, mostly due to the lack of enduro on my machine :p so from personal experience, i can only recommend the 7970m. based on other user reports, most issues seem to have been taken care of with the newest drivers.

    Thanks dude!

So on 9370, the intel4k will always suspended and 7970 will take part in all the daily jobs, from web surfing to gaming?

Yup! System doesn't support GPU switching whatsoever so that Intel HD4000 won't ever be there to bother you.

To my knowledge, the only system that provides the option to disable Enduro is Alienware BIOS. But since this doesn't have switchable graphics anyway, enjoy. :)

Force off? Haha, there is nothing to turn off, doesn't exist.

And I'm with you HTWingNut, my next system will not be muxxless switchable. Screw Intel and their horrible switchable graphics and horrible horrible horrible HD Graphics. If I only wanted to use FireFox, then fine, Intel iGPU is fine, but for ANYTHING else, it's horrible. Really don't like it.

I'm also jealous of your 126 rep power. I will not be repping you anymore, not until I have at least 100!

I wouldn't say Intel graphics is horrible. The HD 4000 outputs amazing graphical quality compared to even a few years ago as far as low power integrated chips go. It can play most newer titles on low settings at 30+ FPS. HD 5000 will be even more powerful. I do agree that my next system won't have switchable graphics though. It's a plague as far as gaming laptops go.

The only other gaming machine to have a sort of option is our overclocked MSI edition which has the HDMI and DP hooked straight into the card so when running off those displays you can disable optimus by setting it as your primary display.

I to have been looking at purchasing that exact sager comp with the duel 7970's however one point I would wait for if anyone else like me has been looking around at the enduro issue and came here is this june and sager implementing the new haswell processor as well as the intel 700m series video cards. Now I would wait not because you need to upgrade and break the bank on it but because with the release will comp large price drops across computers of this nature and chipset. At least here is for hoping the release is happening :) crosses fingers

7970m is the way to go for this set up. However, you may want to consider waiting a few weeks first. Rumors are floating around that the next gen vid cards are coming out. You wouldn't want an "outdated" system in a few weeks since you are shooting for top of the line stuff.

Hey, don't blame intel, it's Enduro that is causing the problem. Anyway, I still don't understand why they develop the switchable graphic concepts. It's like trying to put a hybrid system into a Corvette ZR1 in order to get more mileage. It's so stupid.

Dont worry about Enduro on the 9370, its not implemented. This model does not support switchable graphics so you have 0 Enduro issues.

I purchased my Sager NP9370 for XoticPC and have yet to have any sort of problem with it. Have it hooked up to a 24" Asus monitor and runs perfectly, have used beta and now the latest WHQL driver's, no stuttering, reboots, hiccups or anything. Can't beat the NP9370!
