    Hi guys,

Just bought Sager 8150 and very pleased with the performance. The screen however is oversaturated with red tint. I looked at the drivers in the official Sager website and see the ICC calibration profiles state NVIDIA with none being AMD.

So, my question is can I use these profiles with AMD 6990m?

    Thanks in advance

I believe Windows 7 does have built in calibration software. My desktop computer does anyway, and it's the only one I bother to calibrate since the dual Asus monitors hooked up to it are doubly annoying since one tends to redshift while the other blueshifts. Find a good sample of true gray and use that to gauge. Wer dark clothes as well, and do it in the dark. Windows doesn't have as strong natural calibration as Macs (REALLY wish Windows had those lined apple logo things; they help a ton) but it does the job none the less.

Fact is, ICC profiles slip out of range with time, so you need to get ICC profiles routinely to keep them accurate. Doing it yourself saves the trouble.

Color profiles aren't graphic card specific so you can try them all and since they're free you might as well. The worst thing that can happen is that you wont be happy with the results.

You can install them and see what you think of them, or you can always calibrate the machine yourself (as those ICC's won't be specific to your machine and all machines are different). If you don't happen to have a Spyder 3 laying around, you can just adjust the settings in the control panel until you're happy. Color sample sticks from art stores and home improvement stores are a good way to eyeball how close your monitor settings are to the colors they should be.

If you grab one of the ICC profiles, you can install them as follows:

Control panel > Display > Resolution > Advanced Settings > Color management tab > color management > check "use my settings" > add

Then you can select your profile and set it to be the default from there.

In terms of samples, the only thing you really need is a neutral grey. Any grey card will work assuming you didn't leave it out in the sun, and use it without wearing coloured clothes.

Everything falls into place from there since digital displays have technically bound black and white points.

Yep, you can still install the ICC profiles even if you don't have a 95% screen :)
