I just got my brand new 6165 from Mythlogic today and started playing games and browsing when I got the following popup message.
![]()
It keeps on apeparing every 5-10 seconds. I've never seen this before and dont' know if it is related to any application that has been installed (all I did was install Diablo 3 on the computer).
Any ideas on what is causing it and how to make it go away?
Thanks,

Looks like the finger scanner box.

What is that?

Interesting, although it most likely is not a virus, it does have a virus-ish type look to it.
Perhaps it's an app or piece of hardware with a bad or non functioning driver.. -
as clintre said it looks like the finger print reader box that normaly pops up when you log in scrolling your finger across the touchpad scanner (as long as youve got one).
have you got a scanner on your touchpad as the software is called synapsis as far as i can remember. you can register finger swipes to log into your computer on boot up.
if you havnt got a finger scanner then i have no idea what that box is. -
I confirm this is the finger scanner box as my PC is also from mythlogic, I don't use the finger swipe so I uninstalled the software that came with the laptop it called Trueprotect or something along those lines, it popping that up because it's getting a reading even if you don't swipe a finger there.

Thanks everyone for the help! The software that I had was ProtectSuite 2011. Once I uninstalled that I was good to go!
I can't believe that a company program would put out software that would have such a non-descriptive/annoying pop-up like that. -
I found that screenshot a bit funny somehow, it's a really weird popup
.

Could call the reseller and be like "The laptop you sold me is really bad quality" "what do you mean, sir?!" "Well, I get this popup telling me..."

Mythlogic: is the sensor an UPEK model?
(I know they were bought by Authentec a few months ago. Their TruSuite software and narrower sensors are pure garbage IMO.)
The Bad Quality popup matches UPEK's Protector Suite software UI I have installed on my Acer. -
are these biometric sensors interchangeable? if yes I might rip one from the lenovo laptop and swap the around.
