I figured I would start a thread where we could consolidate information on sales and deals on sager/Clevo stuff and compatible components. Feel free to post them here as you see them and I'll update this OP with the list. Not sure if historically there have been better deals on one day or another, maybe someone can shed some light on that. I know that the resellers don't even know what's going on sale until the sale happens.

We already have some pre Black Friday sales and will be continuing them, as well as other upcoming deals. Pricing isn't something the resellers are at liberty to open discuss on the boards, though.

I believe we should start rolling out some sales Tuesday or Wednesday as well. But I think some of the manufacturer's might still roll some of their own pricing out over the weekend only, on top of what resellers might be offering. Have to wait and see.

@XMG: your price is insanely high when compare with pcspecialist.
    same model laptop, same config:
    i7 6700
    4gb of ram
    250 ssd evo samsung
    gtx 960m
    intel 8260
    no OS
    A506: £939 vs The 15.6" Optimus VII: £695
what is wrong with the price??

@ngotiendat To be 100% honest I have no real idea.

Take into account that their warranty and shipping times need to be substantially upgraded in order to match our 2 year warranty, this adds quite a lot to their price. But I checked the price against other companies in the UK and elsewhere and the PCS price is not just rediculously low compared to XMG, it is rediculously low compared to everyone. I don't want to make unfounded suggestions, but maybe there is a pricing error on their site or something.

EDIT - also been brought to my attention that the panel that PCS use in this chassis is almost certainly the 45% NTSC version which is significantly cheaper than the 72% panel we use - supposedly £70 cheaper in fact.

Once you add all this up the pricing isn't anything like as far out as it may seem at a glance!

Do Sager/Clevo have control over black friday sales to control pricing? Just wondering.

@ngotiendat - I edited my post above to include some info on possible panel quality / pricing differences.

@ipwn3r456 Sager can do what they want in terms of sales and pricing, just like the rest of us can ;-) Clevo don't have any control over anything and they have no say over retail pricing as there's no different a relationship between Sager and Clevo as XMG and Clevo. You'd have to ask a Sager reseller directly the price control question but I think that would be pretty anti competative.

im guessing clevo doesnt really care much, they just fix their volume sale prices for their barebones and deliver those to the respective resellers/vendors/system integrators ;)

Sales are up on sager....doesn't matter though, looks like they jacked prices up and then put on "instant discounts" the prices for the laptops today are exactly the same as yesterday despite having "instant savings" available.

    sleazy sales tactic.

I also lost respect for them. They should know better. The kind of customer who wants a custom laptop is not going to be a black Friday impulse buyer. They will have visited the website repeatedly comparing prices and playing with configurations, and will surely notice this kind of BS.

Usually they change up the configurations of those -S models that are on sale from time to time. It's possible they might have changed a configuration on the m.2 or ram, or included something like IC Diamond, 30 day dead pixel warranty, or a wireless upgrade, but kept it at the same price.

To UK buyers. Scan.co.uk seem to be the best, they do a paste included in price, 2 year warranty and free items as well as good prices on memory - great if you take advantage on the discounts on SSD's at the moment. You can get it all delivered together. Only thing is, their restock isnt until 12 Dec. i dont work for scan but i've done alot of recent research before buying my Clevo

It looks exactly like Sager did this. I've been eyeing them for a while waiting for a good sale. The 8657-S dropped thermal compound. I also thought they had a dead-pixel warranty included.
