Ok, So I had the G73, and I know they both have the Hannstar LCD panel.
Surprisingly, no one complained about the lightbleed on the G73, yet for me, in a dark scene of a movie/show or even just a game I could easily see it. Now I dunno if the frame/bezel can be the main cause of lightbleed. But for people with the w870, can you please tell me if y'all have noticed any yourselves?
It's easiest to spot on bootup or using UDPixel, on the top and bottom parts of the screen. I'm not worried about how bad it is, just whether it is there or not.
I really want to buy this soon, but I do not want to run into any troubles, so thanks in advance.

Not all 8760s have a Hannstar panel. I have an AUO.

Many of these were shipped with the AUO too. My first one had the HannStar. I think the AUO has an overall better quality display.

I got the HannStar. It looks better than the G73 auo panel as far as black levels in movies.

I guess I will find out soon enough for myself. I went ahead and ordered it.
Thanks kip and other guys, all I know is I just want a laptop that works good and has no issues. -
I carried the the 870cu around today and it felt light to me. I might feel differently about the weight 30 years from now, lol. I think this laptop is far from perfect. Weight, battery life, fan noise, etc. Fan noise isn't too bad for me but any way, good luck.
