    Sager D5P (D500E) VIRUS spun up HDD, black screen, motors on

    Ran perfectly for 3 years, turned off virus protection to install drivers, HDD spun up reaaally fast, made strange noises in speakers.
    Took out CMOS battery 10 hours, rebooted, HDD sounds like a rusty hinge, black screen, motors running.
    Took HDD out, still black screen. It is not likely LCD screen and HDD would die at the same time! Let it run a while in all cases.
    Never had a problem at all before.
