Thanks for the update...
the people have been waiting in line
(thinking of next-gen console lines outside of retail stores)
There you go folks, run!!!!
and get your spot in line
This comic comes to mind:
The ending should be better, since the games are plentiful for the PC. -
Thanks Donald! Those are great news indeed.
Gophn is right, we have been waiting in line. Understanding that pricing details won't be available until the 15th, do you happen to know what the initial Video Card will be in this baby? GeForce 8700M ? or another ?
Thanks! -
Donald@Paladin44 Retired
Yes...but that will stay a secret until 6 PM on the 15th
(It may leak out before then...but for the moment stay ready with baited breath) -
lol - I set myself up for that one didn't I. Ok very well. Thanks again for the news and for taking me back to the drawing board on wondering which card it is...

Darnit Donald! You beat me to posting this info
This will be a very popular model
Cant wait until we actually can get our hands on one....
-
Kinda sad to the Clevo M570U go... its still got power that can be counted on... especially for the money.
I wonder if all of the new Clevo's have changed their Fan Toggle hotkey... since the D900C is now using Fn+1 ... (over the old Fn+F2).
Took me a while to find that out when the first units shipped. -
Thanks for the update Donald!
I think most of us are foaming at the mouth from all the new machines being dropped into the market recently.
I am interested in the fact that the previous machines seem to be discontinued so quickly. Seems the market is changing from current model of new system -> current system -> budget system to a more streamlined new system high end, new system mid-range, new system low-end.
I wonder how this change will impact replacement part availability.. -
Donald@Paladin44 Retired
Sager is famous for holding a large stock of parts for years after any model has been discontinued.

Great info, I can't wait to see what the configurations for this beast look like.

Donald@Paladin44 Retired
Shhh...still a secret until at least tomorrow
-
All right, I will pre order mine on thge 15th 6:01 pm, i wonder if someone can call me when its ready to order >
Will it be too expensive ?
Does it have Robson turbo memory ?> -
Justin@XoticPC Company Representative
As of now the Quadro will not be offered on the 5790. That is why the 5760/Quadro is going to keep going

Exciting. If these are preorders, though, are the Rock Direct ones preorders as well?
I hope it'll be available for preorder at RJTech as well. I want to build my own notebook for the hell of it now. -
Compal IFL90 is already available at XoticPC
http://www.xoticpc.com/product_info.php?products_id=1983
Is the NP2090 just going to be the Sager rebranding or what? -
Justin@XoticPC Company Representative
Yes, it will only be a re-branding of the Compal.
-
(Letting his statement built hype for your sales?
)
JBizzler,
According to your link above: "SHIPPING IN MID JUNE. ALL PRE ORDERS WILL...", they aren't shipping yet either. Paladin44 has the same shipping information XoticPC does , and he gets his information from the same people
PowerNotebooks.com has the IFL90 listed here: http://www.powernotebooks.com/specs/PowerPro/j10-15.php
where it has been for a bit now. -
Justin@XoticPC Company Representative
Thought he was referring to whether you could configure the machine as you cant with the 5790 at this time.
Although tardy, we updated our ETA and will continue to reference the same pre-order status as we always have until more updates arrive.
-
Got your PM Justin, I edited my post so it hopefully reads more like I was thinking. I didn't mean anything by it towards you or your information.
-
Well, my question is: will both be available? Like, will you be able to buy the one branded as Compal, and the one branded as Sager, seperate, or will anyone who preordered the one already listed just get the Sager instead?
Just curious. Not actually intrested in buying. -
Donald@Paladin44 Retired
Compal does not brand any laptop...they are the ODM, not an OEM. Compal only supplies the unbranded barebones to system builders.
So, you can get the Compal IFL90 branded by many different system builders including Sager. -
So...today IS tomorrowhow 'bout that GPU info eh? Can you help a brother out...
Thanks! -
Donald@Paladin44 Retired
It will be introduced initially with the nVIDIA GeForce Go 7950 GTX 512MB GDDR3
We do not know when (or even if for sure) it will be updated to the 8700M GT -
So you're saying that the Clevo M570RU is gonna come with a 7950 GTX and there is no information if its gonna be upgradeble to 8M later ?
Do you also know about Robson TurboMemory ? -
Thanks for the update and info Donald. I know that the 7950 GTX is a great card and will last for a while. It's just interesting that the new Flagship (other than the 901) is not being launched with the 8700.
On the other hand - the 8700 was just released recently but if they are not shipping until mid July or so I would imagine it would be enough time to get it into the RU. Of course this coming from someone who has absolutely no idea of the gargantual scope of getting a newly released GPU into a new machine.
Thanks again! -
If there is an assurance that m570ru will be upgradable, then I will pre-order this with 7950gtx. At this point, 8700GT doesn't seem that what we were expecting.
-
The new Clevo's have been shown to have a standard MXM module... so yes their upgrades are more possible than ever before.
You should look at Ice-Tea's expressions when he saw the new modules... -
I'm sure it will be upgradeable... Maybe they're not releasing it with the 8700 to wait for the 8800 which is expected to be released at the end of the summer?
If you think about it, it's a very short time frame between the 8700 and the 8800 release (assuming it is released as expected). From what I've seen Clevo/Sager puts in the best performing GPU when available and that would support them waiting until the 8800 is released. Especially if what I've been reading (that the 8700 is really just an over clocked 8600) is true.
hmm... -
So if i pre-order a 570RU tomorow in 4 months can i sell my 7950 GTX and buy a 8700 or 8800 gt and put it there ?
Anyone knows about Robson T.M. on 570RU ? -
Justin@XoticPC Company Representative
I am sorry we dont have any information at this time on what will be needed or if the 5790 will be able to upgrade to the 8700 or 8800
At 6PM PST tonight we will have the full specs up.
-
I'm curious - now that we know the 5790 is coming out with the 7950 GTX, what are the main differences between this one and the previous 5760? Other than obvious cosmetic differences (no more DJ, etc.)
From what I know, the new one has:
- Draft "N" wireless
- Santa Rosa (800 MHz)
- Possible "upgradeability" to Direct 10X Cards 8700 or 8800 when available (MXM 4)
- Fingerprint Reader (optional right?)
- hmm... anything else?
I'm thinking even if it is upgradeable It would be hard to justify shelling out another large chunk of change for one of the new cards in just a few months. I hear people buy used GPU's but you could hardly come out on top on that transaction can you? -
Why is it that you can buy the M570RU in Europe http://www.rockdirect.com/viewNotebook.php?pName=XTREME 770 with the 8700 GT but it's only going to be available here with the 7950 GTX? They always get all the good stuff before us.

Just because they are advertising it does not mean they are shipping it. Has anyone contacted them to get a ship date?

Regarding the nVIDIA GeForce 8700M GT w/512MB, Clevo is working their hardest to make this option available on both Sager NP5790 (M570RU) and NP9260 (D901C). Currently ETA is early august. Pricing is not yet determined
-
Donald@Paladin44 Retired
Sager NP5790 (M570RU) will have 2 color ID options on the frame trim color...Orange and White. Currently the Orange is finalized and will be shipped first around Early July. The White trim version is currently set to be shipping mid August. Sager has planned to carry both color trims as soon as the 2nd version is ready and available.

Instead of allowing him to lump all so called no name companies into one pile, suggest that Sager is unique in its maintenance of a good stock of parts for years after a model is discontinued...and therefore cannot be lumped into that pile.
Then, ask him specifically if with all his vast experience how many Sager laptops his "people" have ever repaired. Of course he has no idea, but even if he were to ask his "people" they would tell him almost never. There are two reasons for this. One is the obvious, and the other is that almost all Sager users go directly back to Sager for out of warranty repairs simply because they know Sager will HAVE not only the parts, but the factory knowledge of how to repair them. -

The NP5790 (M570RU) and NP2090 (Compal IFL90) are now available for pre-order.
Notice the special pre-order $100 discount on the Sager NP5790
The best estimate for shipping time is late June to early July -

Those ship date are pretty early. Kudos to Sager for having them ready to go.
I ordered my Lenovo X61 tablet on June 8th and it's not going to ship until July 11th. -
Few questions before I order:
1) Why is it when I compare the NP5790 FORCE and ULTRA on powernotebooks, configure them to the same specifications, the FORCE costs $100 more than the ULTRA? Try it. The specs are the exact same as far as I can tell.
2) How the 8700, when it comes to non DX10 applications, going to perform compared to the 7950 GTX?
3) I assume when it comes to gaming I should stick with XP Professional instead of go to Vista. Is formatting the notebook and installing a different OS a simple process, in terms of finding drivers (for when I get a DX10 card and switch to vista)?
Thanks! -
Okay, is it just me but the white trim looks great on the front but the big white rectangle on the top is a little off-setting. I like the orange trim because the top is a polished gray/black color that sort of matches the rest of the black on the notebook. I just don't really like two really contrasting colors unless they are placed in the right places. I think that this is just me and my weird little opinion. Besides, the 18 year old that's going off to college next fall is saying, like that looks like OMG sweet!
-
And i have one before i order .
Where is the Finger print scanner ? -
Between the buttons on the touchpad.
-
Donald@Paladin44 Retired
2. For DX9 applications the 7950 GTX should perform better than the 8700 because it is a step down in the hierarchy. The equivalent card would be the 8800 which is probably the only card that will outperform the 7950...however we really can't know for sure until it is out and tested.
3. Most people are still recommending XP for gaming and have found Vista to be a little slower. Installing Vista later is easy, and the most current drivers will always be by drilling down under the Support button on our website that will take you to the Sager drivers download page. -
and on the specs there is nothing saying finger print scan, is there ?
Another one:
Is it worth to pay 330+ with a T7700 instead of going T7300 ? -
