Can anyone from an FPO address that ordered a Sager notebook tell me how long it took to get the notebook? Was it sent similar to mine via Priority Shipping? Please let me know, I think my order is being delayed in Walnut, CA. The status has been sitting there for almost a week. :(

What does the status say on the USPS site? The status should say it departed the Walnut, CA location.

i had mine shipped to an APO and it said received in texas for, well, forever. i called usps and they said they cant track apo addresses other then that over their internet tracking service. I dont know if its the same for FPO, but i'd imagine.

    Nope, still says this.

    Label/Receipt Number: XXXX XXXX 073U S
    Status: Acceptance

Your item was accepted at 9:36 AM on April 10, 2009 in WALNUT, CA 91789. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later.

It still says that and now it is the 18th. :(

Yep, same thing they told me. Told me that they didn't give updates at every stop for Priority Mail, only Express. But they still should list every major shipping point it is received. :(

Thats funny. My buddy here in Afghanistan tracked his and it actually said when it got here on base. I used to order stuff to Korea, and it would stop tracking when it hit one of the ports, like California, or New York.

Yep, probably means that it is over here in Japan now. They might not have updated the tracking status online when it reached the fleet post office. Will most likely show up Monday.

Its here. Just showed up today, except our command likes to tell you this 2 hours after the post office is closed, lol. I will have to pick it up tomorrow.

Someone told me because laptops are so expensive they are sent as Registered Mail instead of priority which means they have to ship it by BOAT instead of flying it over??

I track my order and it says Accepted at Walnut, CA on 22 JUN 09. Theres been a couple of dust storms which delays mail, but I'm hoping it gets here before my replacing unit gets here and my address changes..... :(

It might, even though that it said that it was being held in Walnut, CA; it is in the process of being shipped overseas. I know this, because a week after it said that it was being held on mine, it showed up. I got stationed in Japan, so that's about half the time. USPS doesn't track Priority Mail and that was the only option given to me by Sager. The laptop runs great, I've had it now for 4 months.

No worries, in all good time, it will show up eventually. Best of luck though that it arrives on time to where you're stationed. The wait was well worth it :D

The status of my shipment was Walnut, CA until the day I got it (Iraq), and it took about a month for it to get to me.

Congrats on getting your laptop! I just ordered one today, also to Japan (Yokosuka). Did it take a week from the day you ordered it or from the time it got into WA? Overall how long did it take is what I'm asking :p

Just a word of caution, hopefully the USPS is nicer with servicemen and women than it is with everyone else; however, there have been problems in the past that non-US residents have had with notebooks sent via USPS getting lost somewhere after departing the last US-based facility (apparently, there's a large USPS-specific blackhole just the other side of each outbound customs facility into which all foreign-bound packages fall - only some make it out alive (I guess, technically, that would make it a worm-hole and not a blackhole, but who's being so persnickety tonight?) :D). If you're having a notebook shipped to a foreign location, and if the option is available (I realize that the good folks at FedEX and etc, may not do door-to-door deliveries in Afghanistan just yet), I would suggest going with one of the private delivery services before USPS.

Unfortunately USPS is the only option on all three sites for Sager and the only shipping they provide to FPO/APO residents is Priority. Also stuff normally arrives to FPO residents rather quickly as the mail is shipped off from the fleet post office in CA.

They aren't any nicer to servicemen :p. Called them and they told me that tracking for the package was exclusively for Express packages :(

Overall, USPS service wasn't great, but more importantly, the laptop showed up undamaged.

I ordered mine 3 weeks before Clevo released that laptop to Sager. So it took me a month and a half. So overall, it took about 3 weeks to show up. Came completely undamaged, no hung or dead pixels, all hardware was good to go. Great gaming rig. It's been able to handle everything, wish I had SLI on the video card, but I will save that for a desktop. It still can play Crysis on high without lagging.

If FedEX or UPS isn't an available delivery method on the online purchase form, try giving the reseller you're working with a call on the phone - the reputable resellers such as Xoticpc, PNB, RJTech, and etc..., will usually try to accomodate a reasonable request from a buyer.

Also, make sure you check to see if the reseller you're buying from has an armed-services discount; as far as I know, XoticPC and PNB both offer such a discount, and other resellers probably do as well.

Came in 3 days ago. Beautiful machine but I left all the plastic coverings on the monitor and lid because the dust here gets everywhere. I'll take them off when I get back home in a couple months.
