So I'm back again. I asked this about 6 months ago but has Sager given users the ability to control fan speed yet? I know I have always had a problem with fans randomly ramping up, and in general creating a lot of noise on simple task. I'm fine with it running a little hot to control fan noise when I'm just browsing the internet. Gaming I don't mind the fan noise but when the laptop is idling it should be almost silent. (Mostly look at the 8258, or the new 8651)

aside from the premamod which comes in different fan table flavours for some models (silent vs. cool) as far as i know theres just the ability to switch from max fans to automatic, thats it. clevo just doesnt allow the user to play around with the fan tables, unfortunately thats the way its been as far as i can remember with them...

I solved (so it seems) my fan issues by 1) putting modified bios from Prema and 2) rolling back Nvidia drivers from the latest posted by NVidia back to the ones posted by Clevo reseller and 3) not using NVidia Control Panel ... previously when NCP was starting (during windows startup) my fans were going berserk along with very irritating overheating beeping... so right now I am enjoying a normally working notebook = Clevo P150SM-A, i4810, 4x8Gb, GTX 870M, 1 x msata and 1 x 7200rpm HDD inside, W8.1x64... granted I am not using the notebook for games, the only stressing software is CaptureOne raw converter (it uses GPU)

Prema's site = biosmods.wordpress.com = please read carefully all instructions first, twice at least and make no error is selecting the right firmware (that is for your specific model)

Hmm I wonder if they have it for 150SM-A, just idling reading forums the fan is kicking on and off. It's getting damned annoying.

it seems that with the newest bios/EC update and the new hotkey driver clevo has finally allowed us users to take control of the fan profiles :) HTWingnut reported this in his review thread for the P650SE, go ahead and check it out!

apparently, one can set the temperature at which the fans turn on and at which the fans go full blast. so it would help with the on and off if u just set the initial temp. higher ;)

That does sound promising. I'll go check it out. The damn thing seems to kick in and out around 45C which is right where the card hovers.

if you download hotkey from Clevo site then make sure to download from their asian ftp... US and EU ftps both have old versions of hotkey software...
