Just a note to the Sager Community, it seems that the Hotkey program doesn't work in the Windows 8.1 preview (at least on my laptop 8250).

The program doesn't start and asks for system restart due to drivers missing.

If you like to change your keyboard brightness, someone is going to have to find a workaround for now.

Thanks for the heads up, we'll probably see many software programs need to get updated.

Can't expect a whole lot from the Preview. Hopefully Microsoft and Clevo are aware of it, so it is sorted in the stable release. Don't hesitate to email them about it!

Did you do a clean install of Windows 8.1 or an upgrade?

I hope this isn't true though or those of us with older machines might be in trouble as we all know the won't upgrade it to support us :(

I don't care for the hotkey per say but that same program (at least on the older model) is what helps tie into the EC and power management...

I was having the same problem/error message... I uninstalled, re-installed, then manually started and changed the 'PowerBiosServer' service back to Automatic. That did the trick for me, but I am also running a newer system, NP9150... Still worth a try!

Personally I find the Hotkey program quite useless. The only thing it can do is to change keyboard color, every other functions can be done normally by Windows. This program also takes some of memory and delays boot time, so I always try to avoid it as much as I can.
