I cannot find exactly what I am looking for and I am wondering why? I cannot find somethign like the 9750 with Intel Dual Core Chips. It needs to be intel since I am going to be running the Avid Editing Program on it and AMD is not Avid friendly, so I have heard. I do not necessarily want the 9890, because of the Pentium 4 chip in it and the power it consumes, since if I am going to spend so much money, I want it to be cutting edge. Does anyone know of a Dual Core system that has two HDs in it or know if Sager is coming out with one? I know this is a Clevo rebranded machine and it is probably dependent on them... Any news would be welcome as I am getting frustrated with not finding exactly what I am looking for.

I don't believe Clevo has any other machines besides the D900K (NP9750) and D900T (NP9890) with two dedicated internal hard drives. If Clevo doesn't have it, then Sager won't either because they produce the machines for Sager.

You could take a look at the NP5760, it's a Duo with a 17" widescreen. It has a single internal SATA hard drive, but you can put another in via the modular bay - you swap the CD drive for it.

If you really need the two dedicated internal drives, the HP dv8000t, although it is a mainstream notebook and won't offer the quality of a Sager, has two drives and a Core Duo up to T2600 speeds.

Wow. Thanks Chaz. I missed that one. I want two drives to run one as my system drive and one drive just for my video footage. Runs better. If I have that option, I would like to take advantage of it.

Ok, now corrdct me if I am wrong, but the Core Duo processor will run faster than the P4 in the 9890?

Well I just emailed Clevo asking them about this. If they are coming out with one soon, I don't want to be left behind. I'll post what I find out.

The Core Duo will blow any other Intel processor out of the water that's available right now. Compared to my desktop's 3.2GHz Pentium 4 w/HT, a Core Duo T2600 is about three times as fast in multi-threaded applications.
