So my youngest kiddo pushed my laptop off the desk a few days ago and now when I plugged it into the ac charger it wont power on. The charger lights up but when I connect it to the back of the laptop the light on the charger flashes and sounds like it's trying to do something.

    So far I've tried:

Removing the battery and holding the power button for 10s
Connecting the power supply w/and w/o the battery in
Pulled the battery and left it out for bout an hour now.

    Can anyone please help!

    Well hmm...
    Thats no good.

    A. Don't use that charger ever again, or get it tested with a voltage tester.

    B. Try another charger (some gateway and all MSI chargers will work)

    C. Make the kid pay up, because your motherboard is probably dead. Its about 200+ shipping if you ask pkhetan.

You could also send it to someone and try to get it repaired. They would probably charge almost 200$.
Personally I would try to repair it for free if you want, because I have 2 m860tu and it might actually be possible for me to do. However I don't have any professional diagnostic or soldering skills.

Well crap, the ac jack is sparking and clearly the source of problems.

Had a second power supply with exact same ratings and connection type and it's the same thing. I guess it'll have to be RMA time :(
