Hello, I haven't done too much research on Clevo but I was considering the NP8690 but it seems every other thread seems to include someone having a problem with their laptop. Is this a problem with the laptops or are the people on this forum just stressing their laptops like crazy?

Also whats the best battery life you can squeak out of one of these things?

You have to keep in mind there are far more people that probably have this laptop than what post here. People tend to reach out and find help in forums when they have a problem, versus when everything is working okay. Like any laptop it is not perfect, but I gather from reading the posts on this and the 8760 threads that these are more reliable, better engineered, products than any of the big name brands on these forums. Most of the problems are more like annoyances than major design flaws. There is always going to be somebody who gets an unfortunate failure regardless of brand. People in the Sager/Clevo forums are definitely enthusiasts and therefore are pushing these things more than an average user.

People are getting about an hour of battery run time out of these beasts.

Ive read posts on the Asus forums and the Alienware Forums.
The amount of complains there are way more than it is in here, that is why ive chosen the NP8690 to the G73. Alienware just wasnt worth the money.

Well mostly is the sound problem, though I really don't find anything wrong with the sound on mine. The rest of the problems are mostly due to the user messing with the laptop, which includes my problem. If would I had left it alone.

I haven't had any problems with my laptop either, except the CPU heat issue which was totally my fault (and is now fixed). My sound sounds pretty great.
