    Hi guys...

I am wondering if the laptop can use a desktop cpu, such as the Intel Core i7-3770 Processor

I have found a barebones on Ebay, which has the GT675M (I know I suck, but I have a limited budget and the 680M is darn expensive)

Or, is it possible to buy the GPU instead?

Otherwise, do you have any places to buy cheap barebones?

    Thanks!

My maximum budget is 2000 USD :D

No it cannot use the desktop CPU, they are different sockets.
For 2k$ though, you could get the 3840qm and 680m.

The NP9570 uses a desktop CPU but it's starting price is a little over 2k$ and only comes with a 670mx.

What do you plan on using the laptop for?

Any major hardware reseller like newegg.com (if you're in the states) will have them.

That is a good source, but their stock is too limited..

Many nice i7's [mobile] cost around 380 USD range (from Intel's website), but many retailers sell them over 400 USD

I am going to make lots of models :D

These models take like years to render on my old, crappy laptop, and I need a portable powerhouse to render them

    Guess I'll wait for DDR4 :D

I read somewhere that DDR4 isn't too far off, but you;ll be waiting for a while. You might try Ebay for some "new" high-end processors, but be sure you read up on warranties and exchange policies.
