I noticed that both notebooks use MXM Type II for VGA output.
So can we purchase the 8600M GT 256MB DDR3 from the C90S and install it onto IFL90?

    Directron carries it. - $239

Whoa, nice. I don't think $239 for 5 FPS is worth it, but should the IFL90 prove to be MXM Type II upgradeable and nvidia decides to cooperate and pump something out, that would be sooo sweet.

Well, 5fps doesn't make much difference then.
But, for people who just purchased NP2090 can actually pull the card out and sells it for $200 or less. Or use it as a spare. :)

    Asus nVidia GeForce 8600M GT 512MB DDR2 Video Card - $199

So, the final price difference is probably $50-60 more for your investment.

Hmm, interesting dilemma. It all really depends on whether or not something better comes out. 8800 probably not, 9 series I would presume.

Also, has it been confirmed that the NP2090 is upgradeable? MXM II or not, haven't there been issues with slightly proprietary video cards that kill upgradeability?

Compal IFL90 Yes II Santa Rosa. DX10.

    "Compatibility to be confirmed."

Guess we just gotta cross our fingers and pray Compal didn't mess with the video card in anyway. Cuz definite upgradeability on this would mean so much, i.e. more resale value and a longer lifespan.
