I'm considering buying a Sager NP2096, but have some questions regarding features. What version is the BIOS? I was told it was phoenix, but not what version or what features it has. I have more questions about the NP2096, so if anyone who has one can answer them for me I'd sure appreciate it.

The BIOS version is 1.07. Feel free to ask any questions and I'll do my best to answer you. Check out my review in my sig as well.

That was a good review. I had seen only a couple videos about it thus far.

I'm interested in what features the BIOS has. Is there a power on password? Can you choose the boot order? Any sound or screen adjustments? What options ARE available?

How well does the camera work? What's the frame rate? What's the resolution?

Do you think it's worth the $$$ to upgrade the CPU? I'm thinking about the same as you, the P9500, but it's slightly over my budget.

The BIOS is very limited in the features it has. There are only 3 screens: main, boot, and exit. The main screen only has the system date and time. The boot screen allows you to change the order of boot devices and the exit is self-explanatory.

The camera isn't the best out there but it does the job. I get about 5-8 FPS, though I'm not sure about the resolution because I'm using some free program called Debut. I probably should have covered it in my review, but I've used it only twice.

The CPU upgrade depends on what you want to do. If you're gonna be running multiple data intensive applications then of course it's worth it. I'm very happy with my CPU, and very happy with my system overall. It handles anything I throw at it.

Thanks, I ordered mine today. I opted for the better CPU. I am intending on running a lot of data intensive programs so I figured I'd need it. I'm looking forward to getting it and finally upgrading from an old thinkpad that I fried.
