I think that score is normal. I get 4070 with the 178.24 driver I'm using. I haven't tried overclocking, but will do so after I RMA this thing and get it fixed.

Mine is DDR2 as well, test performed under Vista @1280x800. DDR3 scores 5800 at default clocks, and I've seen people push it to 7k after overclocking

The default setting I think is 1280x1024. Would you mind running it at that resolution without OC, and if possible OC'd as well.

Does this laptop have to do with Clevo?

Or it is a different brand?

How is the build quality ,the reliability and long lasting of this laptop compared to the Clevo's?

I am thinking of buying this laptop as I saw very good deals on it and I think it is better than the dell m1530 which I was told to stay away from it because of the defective GPU

And last thing ..... do you need the warranty on these laptops because I am ordering it abroad and there is no vendor in my state so I will not be enjoying the warranty

Thanks for anyone who replies to me

The Sager NP2096 is actually built on the Compal JHL90 so it has nothing to do with Clevo. As I mentioned in my review, the build quality is excellent and it's cooled very well. I don't know how they compare to Clevos, but I'd imagine they're roughly similar in terms of quality, though perhaps Clevo has a slight edge in that department. But I've heard horror stories about Clevo laptops as well so it's not like they're the definitive king in quality notebooks.

I personally didn't get the extra warranty because I figured that the standard 1 year warranty that comes with the laptop is enough. So far, I have not had any major issues, and I'm still very happy with the notebook overall.

Just bored honestly. I'd like to try something new. As nice as this notebook is, there's nothing exciting about it.

    MrPresident,

You reviewed in detail the Sager NP2096 and answered many questions concerning this laptop. I have one which I am happy with except that it does not recover from sleep mode. One of our members, icehell, informed me that you had reported on this issue, but I coulds not find the thread. Would you be kind enough to direct me to it and perhaps let us know if you have a solution to this problem. Thank you indeed for all your contributions.

This was the absolute most annoying issue that I had to deal with. It is now gone, and I haven't experienced it for a good 5 months now. To be perfectly honest, I don't really know how it went away but I am guessing it had something to do with a BIOS update. I haven't really noticed the issue since BIOS 1.10 but even more so now that I am running 1.13. You can get 1.13 here.

I updated the BIOS to 1.13 a couple of weeks ago but that did not help. It may have to do with Nvidia driver. I have tried a number of them, problem still exists. Currently, I am running the official Nvidia driver 179.48, which driver are you running? I am assuming you also have the NP2096.

    Thank you.

Its most likely the Nvidia driver. That normally is the case when it comes to laptops not waking up from sleep.

Yeah that is most likely it actually. I heard most of the Nvidia drivers up to 185 had this sleep issue but it has been corrected after a certain 185 series driver (can't remember the number right now). I'm currently running Dox 185.68 and it's great.

Thank you. I will try Dox 185.68 and see if it works.

Removed old driver, cleaned up, installed new driver, unfortunately, it did not solve the wake up from sleep problem. BTW, I did re-seat my RAM but that did not help either. Hope someone else can find a solution.

Thank you all for your assistance.

Was gone for a few days, so I could not respond promptly. I tried to hibernate, laptop tries to recover, I get screen saying "Resuming Windows" but after a few seconds, I get blue screen of death with message stating computer was shutdown to avoid damage, check for new BIOS or Device drivers, etc...

Is there a way of getting a 3rd party generic BIOS (Not the Compal 1.13 or other 1.xx Bios) that would have more setting options. Compal's BIOS is rediculously skinny.

    Hi All,

I solved the "Sleep" issue in my Sager 2096 notebook. It took a long time and quite some effort but found the problem (in my case). I will make it short. I have 2GB Turbo Memory installed and the I was using the driver that came from Sager (Intel Turbo Memory V1.7.0.1029). I updated this driver to the latest version from Intel (V1.9.0.1006). First, I uninstalled the current driver and its software from Drvice Manager, restarted the computer, installed new driver, restarted computer and done!. Now the laptop wakes up from sleep the way it should. It had nothing to do with Nvidia Drivers or BIOS Updates.

    Hopes this helps,
    Regards

Interesting. I never had Intel Turbo Memory though and I still had the problem.

Check "Storange Controllers" in Device Manager. If you have "PCI Memory Controller", update its driver by running the setup for Intel Turbo Memory v1.9.0.1006 which I referred to. Try it and see if it solves the problem.

I don't have that. It's okay, I haven't had the sleep problem for months now anyway.

Looking to get a total weight for this laptop with the ac adapter/charger..
I can find the specs for the laptop - 6.5 pounds with the battery...
Anyone know how much the charger weights and its dimensions?
