I'm very interested in buying the Sager NP2096 but there is one problem, my mom (who is helping me pay for it) is completely against buying online because of previous issues with an older HDTV I had bought online.
How is Sager as a company?
How is Sager's return policy/warranty?
How is Sager's tech support?
How is Sager's build quality?
How is Sager's shipping quality and speed?
Do the NP2096's have many issues?
Also when I was looking at the Sager NP2096, it said it came with 32bit/64bit disc, what is it actually installed with?
I appreciate any help I can get.

I have myself orderd a 2096 but I haven't recived it yet. From what I have learned Sager is a good company to dela with. The return policy is at least for the first 30 days that you can return teh computer without any other reason than that you don't want it, and get a full refound (excluding the shipping fees). Tech support can't I help you with but you could get great tech support from these forums
Build quality should be great. Shippingmethod is what you decide, they use UPS I belive. The first 2096 that has been shipped was prob deliverd last friday and I have not heard about any issues but it is so new that nobody can say for sure yet what kind of issuies there is. I think the disc only contians drivers and not a OS, because I orderd without any OS...
I wouldn't worry about ordering it online, just order from xoticpc.com or powernotebooks.com or sager.com it should be fine (sager.com is a little bit more expensive) they are all respected companys. -
You choose while you're installing Windows Vista whether you want 32-bit or 64-bit. If you're getting 4gb ram go 64-bit.

Q1. How is Sager as a company?
A1. They seem good. They have been in business a long time without any major problems as far as I can tell, do some research on your own, it will impress your mom.
Q2. How is Sager's return policy/warranty?
A2. You purchase a warranty for however long you want it for, I have not heard about any major issues with Sager warrantying their machines.
Q3. How is Sager's tech support?
A3. Good. I haven't even received my laptop yet and have called them twice. They are friendly enough and provide accurate information the first time.
Q4. How is Sager's build quality?
A4. Among the best.
Q5. How is Sager's shipping quality and speed?
A5. This is determined by what shipping solution you go with (speed). As far as quality goes, this is determined by the carrier they use.. but with something like shipping there can always be good and bad experiences of course.
Q6. Do the NP2096's have many issues?
A6. There doesn't seem to be any major issues as of yet but this specific model hasn't been out all that long. Give it 3-6 months if you really want to be sure.
Q7. Also when I was looking at the Sager NP2096, it said it came with 32bit/64bit disc, what is it actually installed with?
A7. If you get 4 gigs of RAM you should probably go with 64 bit, if not I'm sure they will probably install 32 bit automatically barring you telling them not to.
Misc. Finally, do not buy your laptop directly from Sager, they purposely have their price on their website higher than their resellers so that they do not directly compete. The resellers I can recommend are those most active on these forums which are Xoticpc.com and Powernotebooks.com. Look them both up on resellerratings.com, this will allow you to read about past customers experience and see the great reputation both these companies have.
In Summary. If you still have any questions I would recommend Pming/and/or Emailing Justin at Xotic or Donald at Powernotebooks. If your mom still has any questions she should call them up and talk to a reseller directly. I doubt she'll be disappointed.
